FYI: as you've probably seen, CloudFlare was a bit overenthusiastic, demanding that you prove your humanity every thirty minutes or so. This was dialled back this morning, so it should only ask every day or so. As it seems to be doing a good job of keeping the bots out, this may be dialled back even further to every seven days (or maybe it already has been, I don't know).
An attempt was also made earlier to reduce the security level so it would be unlikely to challenge real users at all. Unfortunately, this also let at least some of the bots come swarming back, and the forum started to grind to a halt again, so it's had to be bumped back up to eleven for now. The powers that be are monitoring the situation (as am I) and the hope is that the bot attack will eventually fade away and things can be relaxed again. Fingers crossed!

Just been reading about it on El Reg (not specifically us, but the problem with ChatGPT-USER )Originally posted by NickFitz View PostTurns out some malicious bot was hammering the forum, coming from the AWS data centre in Virginia by the look of things. CloudFlare's anti-bot thing has been activated so you may be asked to prove you're human - difficult for some, I know! But with that on, things seem to be running OK again now

Have you tried switching it off and back on again?Originally posted by northernladuk View PostEvery so often the forum grinds to an absolute halt for me. Takes ages for a page to load or anything to happen after clicking the button. Soon after it's back up to speed.
Anyone else finding the same?
