The HMRC person assigned to me is good and has kept me updated as far as he could. The Finance bill that covered the new settlement arrangements has gone through all the stages and HMRC are working on the various cases in prep for letters going out to all affected individuals more or less at the same...Last edited by Diagnose b4 u prescribe; 14 May 2026, 13:55.

Not been part of WTT or any other group but received the Trethowans / W28 mailing dated 24th April. I have no intention of paying them a penny. I would only spend money on this if they decided to take me to court where I would pay my Barrister brother in law to help me publicly destroy their case and...

Thought I'd add a short post especially for those who are relatively new to this and may feel anxious or that they are being singled out. This blanket scattergun approach has likely been sent to thousands of contractors and ex-contractors so you are NOT ALONE!
My own personal view: I have not...Last edited by Diagnose b4 u prescribe; 14 May 2026, 10:17.

Didn't spot that. Just checked the envelope and did a search of the pos Box and address. It returned this: Based on older, community-sourced information, PO Box 2355, Berwick St Leonard, Salisbury, SP3 5SA, has historically been associated with HSBC bank for returned mail. It is often used for private...

As referenced in an earlier post; that cover letter from Trethowans is not a demand for payment and instead focusses on correcting previous alleged failures to comply with the CCA. I suspect W28 may have engaged them simply to provide a 'wraparound' for their forest of paper in order to infer debts...Last edited by cojak; 1 May 2026, 11:28. Reason: Changed wording. There are independent recommendations in this thread which are are hopefully well informed and well intentioned. However, inside the wad of papers there was a single sheet of unheaded paper that stated the following:
"We would recommend that you take independent legal advice on this matter,...

I have similar reservations. The tone of the post seems suspicious. What's your stake in this Validoom?...

That's a great point!. I've just re-examined the cover letter from Trethowans and it clearly states "This Letter is not a demand for payment". I wonder if W28 have merely asked them to notify clients of the fact they have attempted to discharge their duties under Section 77A of the Consumer...

Letter head shows TRETHOWANS - Part of Lawfront
Sub Title = OUR CLIENT: WEST 28TH STREET LIMITED
So as suggested in previous posts, looks like West 28th are using a bona fide solicitor practice to scare people into a knee jerk reaction and squeeze more cash out of them. So W28 are...Last edited by Diagnose b4 u prescribe; 29 April 2026, 12:40.

I thought this had died a long time ago but I too heard the bang when the latest (very) fat envelope landed in my porch! It's been a while since I posted on the Forum but I will follow a similar path to the one I took previously. Do not engage unless you have to, and I did not chouse to pay a 3rd party...Last edited by Diagnose b4 u prescribe; 29 April 2026, 09:22.
