Visited the one near Brentwood several times. Including one when a bunch of parents helped out at a scout overnight stay at the bunker. Very creepy. We were told, strictly, no alcohol.

I always use the tunnel. It's the faffing about arriving early for the ferry that I can't be bothered with. However, I'm usually heading to Brighton or Ely. I got used to the tailbacks driving half way round the M25 and back for 2 years in the early 2000....

I looked it up. Over here it's the AA equivalent's calculation that's accepted. Of course, that would simplify the (and reduce take), so there's no way HMRC are ever going to do that unless forced.
Maybe that's the issue with HMRC. It's all rules and interpretations thereof, whereas elsewhere...

No, we have to get it done soon because not only does it need doing, but it won't be tax deductable in two years time. Loads of people are trying to get in under the deadline so it's not easy to find someone to do it, let alone choose when!
And... it costs a fortune...

Having two of our bathrooms refurbished which will take about 5 weeks starting in the end of June. Unfortunately, we'll have to stay for our cat, as we can't use our house sitter with a bunch of workmen going to and fro.
So, we're not going anywhere. Maybe a week at the end of July....
