A junior health minister some years ago said something to the effect of:

"Kebab is the safest fast food from a food poisoning perspective. They have the door open so all the dust, viruses, germs and mould come in off the street and lands on the slowly rotating triangle of ping meat. But that meat is continuously rotated in front of a gas burner that instantly kills all those germs, flies and everything else on the surface so what you are served is virtually sterile."

A sensible message.
