Mmm, got an invite from a youngish lady I knew a long while ago to join her at a local event. She's a burlesque artist.

Lunch was a bag of crisps, because that was all I had time for as I needed to prep for the postmortem over our P1 incident the other day

I’m feeling rather under the weather today, which I suspect is due to hay fever as I have a bit of a runny nose as well as a headache

Meanwhile, the mystery of the misdirected mail has been solved! Another item thereof had turned up, presumably a replacement for the last one after it was delivered here and thus not to the person it was for. So on Friday, I got around to going round all of the blocks posting notices at every entrance calling on the mystery recipient to reveal themselves, either by coming round and collecting it, or texting me to tell me where they were. And this morning I received a text from… my next door neighbour across the landing!

I think he’d been away this weekend so hadn’t seen it until now. Anyway, by the time I’d noticed his text, he’d gone out again so I shoved it through his letterbox

Not sure why he didn’t just knock on my door though

Tea has been a burger and chips

To go along with it, a further episode of the Manhattan homicide thing on Netflix, in which a business owner is found murdered, and it takes twenty years for New York’s Finest to realise that his wife has greatly over-egged the pudding when it came to establishing her alibi

Tonight’s reading was more of The Martian Chronicles which I’m enjoying this time around

There’s a reasonable breeze tonight which has been helping cool things down slightly. I hope it lasts; our Thursday forecast has gone up, which wasn’t what I was hoping for

          Goodnight all

            Morning denizens

The warm weather is approaching, but there’s still a fresh breeze making it not feel too bad here at the moment. It’s sunny with wisps again. Currently 16°C, it’s expected to reach 27° for much of the afternoon, and the barometers are up to 1013/1021mB

The good news is that Thursday’s predicted high is back down from 35° to 34°. Better than nothing

17C at 05:30. Going to be a hot one, and we can smell smoke north of here - so somewhere is on fire. Not sure exactly where as there is mist in the valley.

                Morning.

                Tuesday.

                Dry.

Blue sky with high wispy clouds.

                Sunny.

They're right about welding faceshields not being dark enough for looking at the sun. Who'd have thunk?

21.7 deg in here, 23.1 in the kitchen, 20 in the leanto, 18 out the back, 17.8 in the saltinghouse.

1015.5 mBar, 29.9876 in Hg, 761.7 Torr, 14.73 psi, (up from 1015 last night), 58% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 2nd of April 2020: as per yesterday.

Dentist visited: no drilling: plastic padding instead. Probly won't last long, the other tooth ended up with a crown some years ago.

On the walk home I made the mistake of visiting some charity emporia, thusly I now have 4 more books to read in addition to the nigh on a thousand that already live here.

Walk (abbreviated) walked to the res & back. The traffic on the road reminded me why I stopped doing it.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: something on R4 about kinema. Sky Arts: Movies: the Ealing Comedies.

I forwent the opportunity to watch another ep of William Tell.

Good to read that Orange Bonespurred Mother****er hid in a catering trolley so they could transfer him to yet a third aircraft in Turkey. Oh, the ironing.

Off to old farty arty thing soon. Karaoke this evening cancelled again due to hot weather. Another *** hot day, wish that looming solar eclipse was permanent. Been looking at online news, Gordon Bennet, the Daily Express is always 50% about that boring couple Harry and Meghan.

                    Afternoon all

Clear sky with occasional bits of fluff. Currently 25 degrees with a high of 27 yet to come. Barometer up to 1024 mBar.

Yesterday evening I went to see Arcadia at the Duke of York's Theatre. This is the second time I've seen the play, as I saw it earlier this year at the Old Vic and it was just as good as before. A few of the actors had been swapped out and that brought a slightly different 'energy'.

This morning I attended a meeting for gig1, agreed the timeline for some work the consultancy co needs to deliver and then logged off.

                    Laundry is in the WM.

I've had two calls for gigs. One is that which I referred to yesterday, and I doubt I'll hear any more, and the other is back at gig3 but a different focus, more work, less pay, inside IR35. I am not keen.

I think we may be due an 'om' soon as it's 10 pages since the last one.
