Tea has been a quick snack from Popeyes

I still think that should have an apostrophe as otherwise it conjures up a rather weird image, but maybe the people who own the rights to the sailorman would complain if they did that

Much derailing of my routine today due to the family gathering, meaning Monkey Life had to be recorded so I can watch it tomorrow. But at least I was home in time for a thing about some baboons who live by a lagoon in South Africa

And this evening I finished the first part of Porno

I also found a few minutes to add some bits to the Swift app which I'll need to make further progress - though I was able to copy almost all of what I needed from an earlier project

      Goodnight all

        Morning all

Not a cloud in the sky (that I can see). Currently 14 degrees with a high of 23 expected. The forecast has low odds of showers this afternoon. Barometer continues downwards to 1011 mBar.

        Sunrise 05:15; Sunset 20:41 BST

Yesterday's scavenger hunt was good fun. Much silliness in and around Canary Wharf with the Range Rover showroom people being very willing to help six oddballs squeeze themselves into the boot of an Evoque. I am aching a bit today.

Up early for a Sunday because I have a Waitrose shopping delivery due to arrive between 9 and 10, after which I'll head down to see Mum.

Laundry in the WM, so I won't be leaving before that's done (should Waitrose arrive at the earlier end of the time slot).

          Morning.

          Sunday.

          Dry.

          Sunny.

          Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 16.9 deg, 18 deg in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1006 mBar, 29.707 in Hg, 754.56 Torr, 14.59 psi, (down from 1009 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 15th of January 2020 Brillo popped in & observed that I have a very dull life, there was more discussion on The Changing of The Wheel and how it had taken the Green flag chap 5 minutes once he'd arrived, BR14 advised against retirement and was unimpressed with the need for assistance in wheel changing, DaveB recommended the addition of a bit of scaffolding pole to the wheel brace and I remarked that the Lidl(tm) super extended wheel brace didn't have a socket to fit the Corolla which sort of negated its usefulness to someone with two Corollas (i.e. me) whereas xogg was railing against modern programming that didn't initialise everything to null and couldn't believe that NoMoreNails was good for 50kg/cm^2 (which is all well & good until the chunk of plaster pulls off the wall instead) and LM had watched "The Gentlemen (2020)" and found it good.

The tedious dream before waking involved some sort of 3rd Year project involving a strange photographic camera thingie and cut film. Most probably inspired by the spy thing yesterday with its minox cameras etc.

Walk (unabbreviated, usual route) walked in the sunshine.

          Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: WTF is on after the Ambridge bollox. Oh. Farage's buddy, repeat from yesterday: it went <click> as soon as I realised.

Some minor "gardening": two bags of detritus consigned to the greenhouse to dry out ready for the next bonfire. Stone me those brambles do grow quickly. I'll be innerested to see how much like a jungle next door's garden becomes now my "gardening" efforts are no longer required. .

Started picking with rain about 15:00, so I came back in.

Watched Repair Shoppe on Quest & +1: so inneresting I fell asleep despite having a mug of coffee.

          Tea: beans on toast etc.

Entertainment: Doctor Who: Inferno E7, Terror of the Autons E1, 2, 3, which welcomes dear old Roger Delgado as The Master for the first time and "Jo Grant" (Katy Manning) as The Doctor's new assistant (since Liz had "returned to Cambridge"). .

Innerestingly enough, I remember more of "Terror of the Autons". Of the previous season I remembered almost nothing.

Gosh. Jo Martin (The Fugitive Doctor) appeared (briefly) in yesterday's Doctor Who. I might still be watching it if she was the Doctor.

          Raining again.

Sun's out. No thunder so far.

Well there's a thing: just found the SF short story of the Hiroshima postman marooned in time who wants to return to August 1945: "Hobson's Choice" by Alfred Bester.

            Morning denizens

Sunny day again, with no clear evidence of any cloud other than a few very high, very thin hazy patches. It'll be warm to: already 16°C and expected to soar to a sizzling 23°. The barometers are down some more though, at 1001/1008mB

I had a very solid night's sleep, though not until after I'd been awoken around 2am by a weird dream involving a rickety old piano being played, badly, by an unseen force. I haven't got the faintest idea what that was about, as I'm not aware of having any historical or emotional associations with pianos or the playing thereof

Any dream of an old piano is a premonition of an impending disaster. Probably not being able to get your Viz.

My came in post yesterday, found it so hard to find one in local shops I decided to subscribe.

Something to look forward to then

I just checked the Viz calendar in the Christmas issue, which is the only reliable source of info on when it comes out, and it's due in the shops this coming Thursday

Lunch has been a Sainsbury's steak slice

And after that, I caught up on yesterday's two episodes of Monkey Life, which included a scientific first, at least for Monkey World: paternity testing of orangutans, so they could confirm whether it's OK for two of them who were born at the park to pair up

Nice little street party at bottom of road this afternoon. Nowt on tomorrow, unless my Excel sheet tells me otherwise.

The drives to Sussex and back were uneventful. Mowed the back lawn, which made Mum happy. Took her to big Tesco where she managed to spend just shy of £100 on 'stuff'. My brother popped round while we were out and texted me to make sure I was with her, and she hadn't gone wandering. She's not prone to doing that but it's only a matter of time before she does.

Found a parking space on my road on my return home.

Tea has been some of the beef short rib and Hobgoblin stout concoction with chips and peas

This was accompanied by an episode of the CID thing on 5, about a nasty pair of armed robbers who (as usual) proved to be pathetic squirts once they were in custody
