Virgin Media's DNS seems to have caught up for me; I hope everybody else's is too

Doing the locomotion tonight with Trainspotting (1996) and T2 Trainspotting (2017). I'm not sure what to add to what the films themselves have to say.

And then some more of The Shield: S1E10 Dragonchasers (TV Episode 2002) and S1E11 Carnivores (TV Episode 2002)

    Goodnight all

      Morning all

It's on the duller side of bright, with much cloud. Dry but there was a fair bit of rain overnight. Currently 7 degrees ('feels like' 3) and it'll get up to 9 later. Looks like the clouds will give way to let the sun through at some point and it's going to be quite breezy. Barometer down to 992 mBar.

Up early to read the material for the ITIL v4 Foundation exam I've been putting off doing for the past year. I did a practise test in the week and scraped a pass so I'm hopeful.

          Morning.

          Dry.

          Sunny.

Colder at 16.2 deg in here.

997 mBar (up from a low of 989 mbar as I went to bed) 29.44 inHg, 54% RH.

The overnight deluge seems to have departed for now.

          The wind is stil windy.

Saturday judging by the crap emitted by the wireless.

          <hiatus>

Walk walked in the sunshine and cold semigale.

Back in time to watch the last 5 minutes of "The Lone Ranger (1949)" S1 E7 "Pete and Pedro".

Now watching "Nothing to Declare" S10 E20.

          How's this news? It's from 2019?

So why is it on the BBC teletext as news?

          Unless there's another similar feckwhit.

          Ah, al ist klar:

          It's a different feckwhit.

Now: Border Patrol: NZ customs & immigration.

Class act from a Brazilian woman's boyfriend who lives with her for 3 years, dumps her, and rats her out to the immigration feds so she gets sent back to Brazil.

Oh good the certificate error has fecked off.

          106 days out of date.

          Neat.

Just watched the NZ wildlife lot spraying a car ferry with insecticide to kill Australian moths.

Being Australian said moths are very probably mankillers.

In other news, it's been pissing with rain, but the sun's out again now.

Lunch: a gravely overheated Ginsters vegan Moroccan pasty (ruined), Heinz lentil & ham soup with Morrisons Oat and Barley loaf, bramble jelly on Morrisons wholemeal sunflower & spelt crust, red corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

More nonsense from the Canadian Customs including a chap who managed to overdose on speed by chewing on a packet to avoid them finding it, ended up fitting and being carted off to hospital.

He survived long enough to be returned to the lower 48 of SepticLand.

Tea: spag with that fiery bol, some tinned peaches, a yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Entertainment: Alice Roberts rather tedious visit to Cheltenham.

"Look Stranger: Foula - Lonely Island" (1972), made in 4:3 but showin in 16:9 to irritate me.

          Population in 1972: 31.

          Population now: 30.

Gosh. They hoist the mail boat out of the water onto the quay.

Chap remembers the population being 200.

When the wind is abouve force 5, they winch the boats up from the quay & tie them down to boulders.

The island's been cut off for 3 months at a time if the weather's bad.

          They built their own airstrip.

          https://www.theatlantic.com/photo/20...pony%20farmers.

The telephone box in photo #14 was the radio telephone link to the Shetlands that was installed by the GPO.

It looks like it's redundant now.

Apparently they had 3 tvs on Foula back in 1972.

          One worked.

They had a number of motorcycles too.

          Of which one worked.

Next: "Look Stranger: The island in the song": Eriskay where the population has dropper from 200 then to 133 now.

It's a tad easier to get to than Foula.

          And it's got trees!

Was quite amused by the chap fitting his Mrs & their 8 kids into a large saloon car.

I wonder what the plod would say about that these days.

          There's a reason he had 8 kids.

Sun has come out and there's blue sky with fluffy clouds.

It's brightened up again since the unscheduled break in sunshine occurred.

Had a late lunch of a ham baguette - freshly baked from the stash in the freezer.

                      afternoon all.
been alternating stair rods and bright sunshine all day in indecisive sarf herts.
France are looking good, 0-7 3 mins in.
                      not that I'm biased.

                      crumbling now though.
