Ouch! - that'll hurt your reserves.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostMorning denizens
Woken in the small hours to be stabbed in the arm, as expected
Only another ten days or so of this, followed by a couple of months or so recovering from it
Still better than the alternative though

This morning saw a proper visit from the surgeon, to go over all the details and get me to sign consent forms. So we're on for Tuesday morning

My contract ends on the 7 January anyway, and I was kind of hoping for no renewal so I could take a few months off. I'd rather have been doing something other than recovering from open heart surgery, but any option that doesn't involve the A14 is good by meOriginally posted by BR14 View PostOuch! - that'll hurt your reserves.

Anyway, lunch today has been the all day breakfast, again
I tried the crème caramel for dessert, but it had much the consistency of a freshly-opened tin of emulsion, and I found myself unable to finish it
Roast chicken for dinner tonight, I think, in a vague nod to the notion of it being Sunday

Apparently he usually does four bypasses a week, two on Tuesday and two on Friday. He said that if necessary he'd have done me this weekend, but as I seemed reasonably stable, he preferred to use the additional time to allow various drugs I've been on to be flushed out of my system fully, as I thought. So I'm first in this weekOriginally posted by NickFitz View PostThis morning saw a proper visit from the surgeon, to go over all the details and get me to sign consent forms. The cannula being used to pump me full of heparin has been relocated, at the fourth attempt by two different people. None of these attempts were pain-free or in any way relaxing
It seems my skin is quite sensitive to the glue on the tape used to stick down things like cannulas and on the pads for the ECG, so they keep having to move stuff around to let it recover.Comment

Afternoon. Well I’m very disappointed with the snow around here. It’s melting already. ☹️"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
