    Morning.

    Sunday.

    Dry.

    Blue sky.

    Sunny.

19.3 deg in here, 20 deg in the kitchen, 18 in the leanto, 15 out the back.

1018.5 mBar, 30.07 in Hg, 763.9 Torr, 14.77 psi, (up from 1013 last night), 71% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 4th of April 2020, between 19:45 and 20:49, in popped Brillo, LM, MrMarkyMark, and PhilTheGreek.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine. 3 conversations again today. I might get used to this. Small rat/large mouse observed near the Tonna chipshop. Nowhere near the size of the dead rat I saw near there a couple of days ago, so probly a mouse. The ginger cat was too slow to catch it.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: last 10 mins of dashcam bollox S3 E3.

The Scottish Islands thing with Paul Murton: Mull and Inch Kenneth. Oh, and Unity Mitford. That :nazi: smiley is much missed. . The mystery of the disappearance of Peter Gibbs & his aircraft on 24th of December 1975. They found his body after 4 months: the plane: not found as yet.

Look at life: Bavarian Alps violin making skool Mittenwald "Village of violins (1960)". Well there's a thing. That young chap from Birmingham who was being learned must be in his 80s by now.

Some potching in the cemetery where much in the way of brambles were variously cut back & others uprooted, the detritus being deposited on the adjacent untended graves whence said brambles originated. The strimmer lied & said it was out of string, which proved not to be the case, so I'll have to go up there again & strim what I failed to strim today.

Tea: beans on toast with scrambled egg. Nice enough. Entertainment: last bit of Brain of Britain (someone nearly had a duck but managed to score 1 point). The WTF happened on this day thing. Poetry crap <click>.

Oak Island nutjobbery: two fecking hours of it. Wood. More wood. Chunk of something like concrete. Actual treasure: one quarter of a 1797 silver shilling: i.e. the equivalent of 3d. Yet another shaft: 2, then 2A. I'm waiting for 2B or Not 2B, that is the question.

    Bits of dashcam bollox S1 E2. S2 E1.

"70 up" on ITV. You know: the programme that chap claimed to be on despite being born some 30 odd years after it started. .

      Morning all

Blue sky with wispy cloud. Currently 16 degrees with a high of 19 expected. Sunshine and clouds seems to be the order of the day. Barometer up to 1025 mBar.

      Sunrise 06:44; Sunset 19:04 BST

My left shoulder still hurts. Assume it's nerve-related as there's no issue with movement.

      Off to see Mum today.

        Morning denizens

It’s sunny and Simpsonesque out there today, though pretty breezy with it. It’s 14°C but “feels like” 10°, and the expected high for the day is 18°; the barometers are up a chunk at 1013/1021mB

Woodland volunteer thing this morning. Removing invasive Laurel and Rhodedendron, mostly just wandering about trying to find any.

            Leftover hot wings for lunch

Before that, some more stuff was done on the new forum

Beef casserole, flavoured with Hobgoblin ale, is simmering in the oven and starting to smell very nice

I was going to do it in the slow cooker, but it would have needed about seven or eight hours and I forgot to put it on this morning. I could have done it in the InstantPot™ instead, but I’m not convinced the flavours develop as well in there (though it could then have been left overnight to let them do so). So I compromised by putting it in the casserole dish in a low oven, where it’ll get four hours or so

After me volunteery morning spent time in garden, mostly getting rid of the damn bindweed that has taken over my greenhouse again. Thought I had solved the problem last year by sealing gaps in floor slabs all round edges and putting down some artificial turf but made no difference, long roots coming from underneath it, have to seal the whole floor. Need it for autumn, it's my little warm resty place.

Hobgoblin beef casserole with chips and peas. That turned out very well

There was some wildlife stuff on earlier, including kangaroos

Tonight I read more of V for Victory which is excellent

Monday again tomorrow. I’ve got something moderately interesting to do, but I’m not sure it’ll last all day

                    Goodnight all

                      Morning.

                      Monday apparently.

                      Dry.

                      Grey.

                      Sunless.

                      White sky.

19.1 deg in here, 19.3 in the kitchen, 17 in the leanto, 13 out the back.

1025 mBar, 30.27 in Hg, 768.8 Torr, 14.866 psi, (unchanged), 65% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 4th of April 2020, between 20:50 and 21:00, in popped Brillo a lot, with MrMarkyMark, and NF (in the Chinese) getting a post or two in edgeways.

Entertainment: Jack Hargreaves Old Country: manor houses, interrupted by the need for a bathroom break, thusly leading to viewing it again in the afternoon. He wore a panama hat in this one: the usual bucket hat presumably being infra dig for manor house appraisal. .

Shopping trip to Morrisons and Aldi: done, dusted, washed, dried, sanitised & put away.

Met an ex-colleague at Ye Newe Sloughe of Desponde whilst on the way to that Aldi.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: dashcam bollox S3 E6. Grand tours of the Scottish Isles E3/6. Gigha and Jura, and that impressive Corryvreckan whirlpool off the north of Jura that nearly saw off Mr Eric Blair & his son.

Lawn mown since it looked like it needed it again. Just my big lawn today due to prior exertions.

Alaska Homestead thing: S4 E2: stone me, who in their right mind would build a homestead in a bog in a rain forest & drink the creek water half a mile down from a beaver dam? Plus Raney Snr was isolating due to plague for half of it: it sped up once he returned.

Jack Hargreaves Old Country: describing manor houses and how some of the squires really were Old Counts.

Tea: chilli con carne and rice. Entertainment: PM, then the remainder of the Alaska homestead thing: still don't understand WTAF anyone would homestead on what is effectively a bog.

"We of the West Riding (1946)". Making cloth for the world. Them were the days, they did things differently then. And stuff was made in this country.

Bab5 S4 E9 "Atonement". Delenn goes on a dream quest.

Maigret: "No vacation for (1995)" Cremer. The one where his Mrs gets appendicitis whilst they're on holiday.

That Anstead chap potching about with a Rover P5B. Lovely motor car. If you can afford 15mpg. Magnificently rusty for £5k.

He's just discovered that the suspension uses torsion bars. Impressive that he didn't know you can really feck up the power steering by operating the steering with the engine off.

Gosh. I've finally found out that "patio gas" is actually propane in a fancy bottle. Well there's another thing.

I've also found out how they refill dissolved acetylene cylinders. Stone me, that sounds dicey.
