It acted like it was going to brighten up for a brief period mid-afternoon, but then changed its mind and clouded over again

But I'm done for the week!

My timesheet has even been approved already

Shopping done including, most importantly, the new Viz

It was very quiet down at Big Sainsbury's; it's definitely a good time to go, while everybody's having their tea

In the 1,456,728th edition of "will LM never learn", I have once again failed to make the bed at a time that isn't immediately before I want to get in it. I also forgot to take the laundered bed linen out of the WM so that's been in there all evening, festering.

Tonight's major motion picture premiere was Attack the Block (2011) in which a gang of youths on a South London estate find themselves battling an alien invasion. Quite entertaining, I thought

And then one I watched a few years ago: '71 (2014) in which a young and inexperienced British soldier is accidentally left behind in a Catholic area of Belfast when his unit flees a riot in the early days of the Troubles, and has to try to get to safety while contending with the Official IRA, Provisional IRA, and a rogue unit of undercover Army officers. An excellent film, though I'm not surprised to learn from the credits that they didn't film the location scenes in Northern Ireland; I daresay memories were still a bit too raw to be recreating all that stuff along the Falls Road

            Goodnight all

              Morning.

              Friday.

              Dry.

              Sunny.

              Blue sky.

Chilly in here at 18 deg, 19 deg in the kitchen, 16 deg in the leanto, 13 deg in the saltinghouse.

1022 mBar, 30.18 in Hg, 766.56 Torr, 14.8228 psi, (up from 1021 last night), 67% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 16th of January 2020 LM arrived at Victoria but exited from the wrong side of the station & had to walk all the way around, Brillo popped in, BR14 popped in, replete with brown sauce, NF had ribs that he'd frozen in a plastic bag so popped into boiling water for 20 mins, and I watched The Rock (commentary), followed by 20 minutes or so of Appaloosa. The plod had closed Fabian Way for 5 hours earlier in the day, which explained why my bus didn't turn up.

Washing frenzy in progress: cottons & the malodorous work clothes: latter should be dry in time for this afternoon's endeavours. Must remember to Make The Bed before this evening. . I've already remembered to peg the stuff out on the line. .

This morning's dream before waking involved the A461 road and somewhere called "Cuckfield", which latter I was surprised to find actually exists, though 100 miles away from the A461. Another dream where I'm lost driving home.

Despite some reading of a book, sleep did not return. Ho hum.

Walk (unabbreviated, alternate alternate route back) walked in the sunshine. It being so early it was quite pleasantly cool.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: The thing about the Great North Road at 11:45. Followed by the first instalment on sounds or whatever it's called.

More potching in the garage. Stuck brass screws in the tool box hinges. A real pain.

Now getting outside a mug of mediocre (but consistent) coffee.

More potching: for some reason looking in the outside bog led, inevitably to potching in there too.

Found some old Wilko grass seed and some mosskiller/fertiliser stuff. And some old wood that may come in handy to repair the bottom of the toolbox. Time will tell if this is A Good Idea. .

The Force was not strong this afternoon so I gave up.

              Tea: soup etc.

Entertainment: PM. Doctor Who: The curse of Peladon. Pretty average.

Abandoned Engineering. EOS. Palermo, Siclly: Pizo Sella: mafia "housing estate". Pennsylvania: Penhurst State School & Hospital: hell hole institution housing thousands: closed 1987. Knocklofty House in Clonmel, County Tipperary, Ireland: kidnapping of The 7th Earl of Donoughmore & his wife by the IRA. Hiiumaa Island Estonia: Soviet era fortifications overrun by Adolph & co, then rebuilt.

AC/DC Live in Donington on Sky Arts.

Any other crap I can find.

                Morning all
                CBS, etc. no rain.
                TFIF, etc.
Off all next week so today is going to be busy, although one of the team has already suggested I shut down at 3pm and he will cover for me.

Not far from me so beware, I am infiltrating your brain. Had an odd dream the other night, I had some minute job to do and mistakenly installed a huge flexible pipe that went everywhere. Every road, shop, cafe, park etc had it running across.

                    Morning all

The cloud has gone and the sky is once again clear and bright. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 19 expected. Barometer up to 1026 mBar.

                    Sunrise 05:08; Sunset 20:49 BST

I did get the bed linen out of the WM last night and it appears to have dried overnight. Handy as the duvet cover is now in and I can do a swift swap of wet for dry when it's done.
