Meanwhile on the 14th of January 2020 I had too many oranges, LM was late but caught the tube right on time, WTFH was in Cork where it wasn't raining, then, five minutes later, it was, OPM said it was raining in Manchester, it was raining here, BR14 popped in and it was raining on NF too.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Got quite warm towards the end.

Yesterday's smoking car had departed.

More potching in the garage: this week's illuminations for the recently installed workbench are done, during which the trip proved that it still tripped. Then the stepladder left behind by the builders received some attention so it's a bit safer than it was and actually closes all the way, which is a good deal less irritating than the way it was previously.

Did some gardening with Weedol: japanese honeysuckle & those fecking day lillies that are coming back despite my efforts at digging the feckers up. We shall away results with innerest.

Now getting outside a mug of NotBlend37 coffee.

Tea: soup etc. And it wasn't tomato for a change.

The journey back to Glasgow yesterday afternoon was uneventful but delayed about an hour. Due to a combination of thunderstorms in the area and something about baggage. All in all a good day yesterday.

Tea has been a Turkish mixed grill, not from the usual place across town but from a nearer place I hadn't tried before, just past the park. Very nice indeed

Today's telly was the usual run of Monkey Life plus other wildlife things, including the remarkable geladas of Ethiopia

And this evening I started reading Our Spoons Came From Woolworths by Barbara Comyns. This was her second novel, published in 1950, and is a largely autobiographical account of her first marriage in the 1930s, she and her first husband being young, somewhat naive and decidedly penniless artists. She has a unique voice and is very amusing; I'll definitely be reading her other books after this

Shopping trip to Morrisons done dusted washed dried sanitised & put away.

Three lawns mown for the first time this year. Feck me it was hard work in parts. I left some clover to flower for the bees.

Entertainment: TWTW waffling on about the usual bollox with General Lord Dannatt thrown in for good measure: he's less inclined for 5% of GDP than I am.

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 82%.

Repair Shoppe on Quest: merrily flipping between that & the one on Quest+1. Inneresting enough in the bits I watched.

Some bollox on Blaze about Weird Britain: yet another of these low rent piles o tulipe programmes. I decided that tea was more inneresting.

Tea: beans on toast with boiled eggs scrambled eggs. Made a nice change.

Entertainment: thing on R4 that wasn't Mr Ince, rather a thing about Israel, with the Evil British getting the usual mention. .

Thing about The Plague on 5+1. Killing fleas with a sulphur candle in a wooden shed: animals really were harmed in the making of this programme. . And all the better for it. .

More bits of Repair Shoppery, this time interspersed with The Rolling Stones Grrrr concert.

Was about to watch the Blaze thing about the Sphinx but changed to Ipcress again.

Book. It's dragging a bit, but not as much as the Inspector Colbeck one.

There's a pile of half read books slowly growing taller.

Maybe the Mediaeval Murders thing at 23:00.

Cloudy with sunny spells, usually quite brief, sums up the weather here at the moment. It's much cooler too, being 9°C and not getting any higher than 12°. The barometers are back up a bit at 1008/1016mB though. No rain predicted but it has sometimes been popping in uninvited, so we shall see
