Lunch: the other half of the sausage and bacon baguette I started on yesterday

Late lunch was a fish finger sandwich (Waitrose battered haddock).

Called up a company recommended by my mechanic to get a quote for sorting out my car's air conditioning. Apparently I need a new compressor based on the description of mechanic's findings when they investigated it for me. The supply and fit of such an item is £950 + VAT.

I got them to fix my car's air conditioning when it was in for its MOT last year, in February or March. By the time the weather was warm enough to need it, it had stopped working again. So maybe put it off until the weather forecast improves

(I think they'd just recharged it and there must be a leak somewhere so whatever it is they recharge it with had all leaked out again. It worked when I first got it back.)

Today seemed like it was going to be quite busy, as there were three unrelated aspects of The Thing that needed to be addressed. It turned out that one needed to be done by somebody else instead; the second also needed to be done by somebody else, or at least can't proceed until they've done something; and the third had been working all along but nobody had realised (it sends automated emails to an address that somebody else had to check as we don't have access to it)

Popped round to the pharmacy for the monthly top-up. It seems to come round faster each month

Walking back, only the Korean place was offering appetising aromas lingering on the evening air

And it was light! All the way there, and back again!

So far on TCoOI they have found: a button, a coin weight (speculative), slabs of concrete, wood in plank and beam form.

In Mesopotamia, it was time for a look at the very large number of cuneiform tablets inscribed by children learning to inscribe, with an aside about Enheduanna: princess, poet, and High Priestess of the Moon (another one), she is the first author in history who is known by name to this day

                      Morning denizens

Sunny start out and expected to continue so through the day. Still not very warm at 2°C, though it'll make it into double digits with a high of 11° (and no "feels like" to snatch it back). The barometers are back down a bit at 1014/1023mB
