Sadly, I was a bit less concise than that

But I made the point that while "pairing" or "mobbing" has benefits in moving the project along faster, it's at the expense of the opportunity for those involved to gain deeper understanding of the various moving parts. If somebody says "Oh, I know what the problem is" and fixes it and then we move on to the next thing, the others never even get as far as understanding what the problem was in the first place, never mind how doing whatever it was fixed things

Grass cut, the edges done with the Hayter 53 and then the rest down with the Husqy.
Will throw the rake on the mower on Thursday and dethatch before visitors arrive for the weekend.

Much brouhaha in Story of a Murder as Chief Inspector Dew of Scotland Yard takes a fast passage across the Atlantic and is ready and waiting in Canada to arrest Crippen and Ethel Le Neve when they arrive. So back to London they go and Crippen is now on trial for his life, with several of the stalwart members of the Music Hall Ladies' Guild amongst those giving evidence against him

          Goodnight all

            Morning denizens

Another sunny one, though once again some high, thin haze of negligible density is trumpeted as "partly cloudy" by Big Cloud. Currently 11° and today it's getting to 23°, a new record for the week. The barometers are down a little though at 1012/1020mB

                ^^^OM.

                Morning.

                Wednesday? Just askin' like. .

                Dry.

                Sunny.

                Blue sky.

Not quite chilly in here at 17.4 deg, 18.5 in the kitchen, 16 in the leanto.

1018 mBar, 30.06 in Hg, 763.56 Torr, 14.765 psi, (unchanged), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 13th of January 2020 the forecast was Force 9 for Lundy so I stayed in, BR14 recalled travelling to Lundy on the supply boat in a Force 8 & not enjoying it much, wattaj paid a visit & recommended a jam sandwich, LM hadn't had a jam sandwich for year, while eek found apricot preferable, but home made strawberry acceptable, blackberry was mentioned, Brillo popped in & then went back to bed, whereas NF spotted an ambulance outside the doctors surgery next door, cojak recommended travelling to Gatwick on the train rather than by car.

Entertainment: Dimbleby waffling on about the wonders of Thatcher's privatisation frenzy & how it ****ed up Thames Water, mostly due to Aussie scumbag banks, who also had their fingers in that redundant gasfired powerstation in Baglan Bay that ran for all of 17 years.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the hideous heat of the morning. Phew wot a scorcher. Despite this the alternate route back down was swamplike in parts.

The Range actually had something I wanted in stock, saving me a trip to B&Q.

                Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about the usual tulipe. TWATO. The thing at 13:45 about the Orange Moron and his doings.

More potching down in the garage, strewth it's a bit warm, Bruce. Definitely hot enough to boil a monkey's bum. Also a quick potch cleaning the sewer inspection lid. Might even weld a bit on the hand holds.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. I forgot something today so it wasn't as good as monday. In fact it nearly ended up with mashed spud until I came to my senses.

NCIS S17 E16: the stolen coin one.

The secret genius of Modern Life: Motorway.

Maigret sees double (1999). The one about the accountant shot through an open window by someone using a Barratt 50 cal an air rifle stolen from a fairground. Totally Lucas free.

A merest smidgeon of Mysteries from Above looking down on some Greek island or other.

A larger smidgeon of the thing about Alec Guinness.

A merest touch of the thing about The Cold War and cinema.

                  Afternoon all, Glasgow calling

That's 33 mins more daylight than that London will get today

Busy day at the coalface. Meetings galore plus I actually got some work done!

Lunch: Heinz tomato soup with white toast

Lovely day out. The big sycamore tree just past the block opposite is now in full leaf; it's a bit of a slow starter compared to some of the others, but gives it its all once it gets going

                      hello again
V warm here in the east riding.
up to my armpits in fecking windoze today.
MS wants us to put all our personal stuff on their fecking servers.
Trying to sell it as a service improvement, rather than data theft.*
I'm going to have to chuck it all out soon, they're getting too insular, like that iStuff co.

*i'm switching it all off, where I can find it.
