Just paid the council tax for the year. I enjoy paying off stuff like that in one go. I leave the monthly reminder in my calendar so I can look at it and think "Don't need to worry about that!" every month

There's some sort of sea organism which is a hybrid of 2 creatures but can't remember what it's called. Google just comes up with stuff about Tigers bonking Lions and things. Appreciate it if any wise CUKers can think of the name.

Is it The fish that lives in a sea cucumber anus - Australian Geographic?

Though that's a symbiotic relationship rather than a hybrid.

Lunch was a Sainsbury's own brand steak slice. It contained a bit less filling than a Pukka one or a Greggs steak bake, but still perfectly acceptable

Ah yes! Cheers. How could I not remember the word Siphonophorae??

Living in an anus! That sounds like fun, if it was Dawn French's anyway.

The Clarityn from yesterday seems to be wearing off so I'm getting hay-feverish again

Tea has been a couple of very tasty lamb steaks with chips and beans

This was accompanied by the start of The Pile-Up: Death on the Motorway about the 2011 incident on the M5, the rest of which I'm now watching

Tonight's major motion picture premiere was Anora (2024). It's good, though I'm not sure why it won Best Picture at the Oscars. Entertaining though

Early(ish) night now. This hay fever seems to be lingering a bit at the moment

                    Goodnight all

Morning. Nearly dead. Dreadful night. Impressive rigor whilst cleaning my teeth.

Saturday apparently (I thought it was Sunday, just as well they said).

                      Damp.

                      Grey.

                      Sunless.

Chilly in here at 16.2 deg, 15.5 in the kitchen, 15 in the leanto.

1017.5 mBar, 30.046 in Hg, 763.2 Torr, 14.7575 psi, (up from 1016 last night), 64% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 12th of January 2020 I made a nice rice pud, all milky & lovely, it rained on me as I progressed up the garden path with the shopping, there was discussion of the Bleriot XI and the SR71, the latter plainly being the result of Ancient Alien Influence , Brillo was feeling a bit crook, and NF skipped the tyre changing by travelling down & back with relatives on the trip to see his mum, who wasn't very well.

Lunch: brunch. Feeling a bit better now after some paracetamol and ibuprofen.

                      Entertainment: my tinnitus.

                      Read book.

Freecell score: 100%, running average: 82%.

                      Tea: soup etc. Nice enough.

                      Entertainment: PM.

                      Book.

How the Nazis lost the war: watched it last tuesday.

New book. (Only if you define 1976 as new, of course)

"Wrath of Man (2021)" with Jason Statham & Scott Eastwood & Andy Garcia. I rather enjoyed that. There's 84 1* reviews on imdb. It makes the 3rd Ritchie movie I've enjoyed.

The last 10 minutes of "Unforgiven (1992)" with Scott Eastwood's dad. Gene Hackman's end in real life was worse than his end in the film, the latter being quick.
