    Morning denizens

Nice sleep in this morning, being the last morning of my break. It's sunny with some cumuli scattered about, and a pleasant start to what should be a warm week: currently 12°C with an target of 19°, building to a forecast high of 23° by Thursday. The barometers are up a bit to 1013/1021mB

      Afternoon all

Sunny with some fluffy bits and some wispy bits. currently 19 degrees ('feels like' 24) with a high of 20 expected. As ever the weather says there's a chance of showers at any point throughout the whole day. Barometer up to 1026 mBar.

      Sunrise 05:41; Sunset 20:18 BST

No visit to Mum today. No other plans for the day.

Tea has been homemade lamb burger in a toasted sesame bun with fries

AFAIK I used the same amount of finely chopped fresh chilli mixed into the mince as I did last time I made these, but it didn't seem as hot. Still very nice though

Took me ages to find the packet of paper discs for use with the burger press. It was eventually discovered in the bottom kitchen drawer, where it had somehow managed to work its way underneath everything else, even stuff I'm pretty sure I put in there a year or more before it

Tonight's viewing was the new episode of Ambulance

And in Story of a Murder, Crippen and his not-wife Ethel have fled London, taking the boat train to Harwich, after the Music Hall Ladies' Guild's efforts to interest Scotland Yard in Belle's disappearance finally paid off (they sent a man, figuring that maybe they'd actually listen to him)

Work again tomorrow. But it feels a little more bearable after a decent rest and with luck, I'll be able to carry on working largely on my own which is much less stressful. And there's another Bank Holiday next week!

          Goodnight all

Sunny start out though with some hazy bits, and expected to continue much the same all day. It's up to 11°C already and expected to reach 20° later. The barometers are up a little to 1015/1023mB

Back to work today. The getting-up-early aspect of this is already disagreeing with me

              Morning all
CBS, etc, and while there is a little chill in the air, I sensibly decided to forgo a jacket on the walk. For the first 10 minutes that seemed like a bad idea, or at least not a good one. The rest of the walk it was definitely the correct choice.
Miscalculated my route and ended up back at the house at 8,800 steps instead of 9,900.

                Morning.

                Monday apparently.

                Dry.

                Sunny.

Chilly in here at 16.2 deg, 15.5 deg in the kitchen, 14 deg in the leanto.

1021.5 mBar, 30.165 in Hg, 766.2 Torr, 14.815 psi, (unchanged but a tad from last night), 64% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 13th of January 2020 WTFH was leaving on a jet plane, didn't know when he'd be back again.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the unbearable heat.

                Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about smart meters and the LW switchoff of Economy 7.

The parents' grave received some "weed & feed" (BBE sometime in 2003 at a guess) to see if the yellowing is due to the compost I put there last year or the agent orange I suspect was sprayed everywhere a fortnight ago. It really does piss me off that there's a monoculture of equisetum due to this. Better than the monoculture of japanese knotweed in the church cemetery across the way.

I even found a rose that fitted the thread on my grandfather's watering can which I found pleasing.

The landing and stairs have received the attention of the vacs.

Off down to the garage shortly to faff about a bit more with the ladder supports.

Ladder supports duly installed. Should stop the thing falling on my head & killing me. Which is a plus, I suppose.

During which I broke a 3mm drill bit, which was irritating, though it had done sterling work over the years. .

It was really warm down there, so a shower was necessary.

Tea: chicken in white sauce etc. Probably totally fatal with all that white in it. .

And apparently it's better to sleep on one's left side. Another reason I'm doomed. .

                Entertainment: PM.

                BBC4 2011 thing about Gricer's favourite road: The A303.

The Skinwalker Ranch bollox. Worse bollox: 2 half hour clip shows. They seem to like these. Must be a lot cheaper.

Beyond Beyond Skinwalker Ranch bollox. Another fecking clip show. WTF?

Whatever other bollox I can find.

Don't you just love it when the doctor's surgery phones you up for "more tests" and telling you that you need to come down tomorrow to pick up some drugs.
The Wife asked me what I was being put on and she was a bit surprised, suggesting 2 others that are where you normally start to see if they work before going onto the one they are starting me on.

                    ...all good fun.

LL1 at hospital today, very long lone walk. Rather boring. Feeling guilty cos I accidentally trod on a poor little snail this morning.

PS Gordoneo Bennuto! Now they are saying even chicken is bad for you.
