Watching Season 12 of The Curse of Oak Island. Gary Drayton has a daughter and everyone went googly eyed over her. Haven't seen her since that one appearance, must be too glamorous. Some wood and a button have been found.

Tonight's only telly has been part three of the Irish gangsters thing on iPlayer.
And then I started rereading Trainspotting as Irvine Welsh has got a new sequel coming out later in the year so I thought I'd refresh my memory in advance
Only three more days until my break!
Goodnight allComment

Morning denizens
It's a grey start with evidence of some recent rain, and there's more of the same due in a bit; just showers though, I expect. It's already 8°C but it won't be getting any higher than 13°, and the barometers are down again at 984/992mB
I had trouble getting to sleep last night, though once I did I slept soundly. It's left me feeling a bit "meh" this morning thoughComment

Morning.
Tuesday.
Dark.
Dank.
Dreary.
Grey.
Sunless.
Damp.
Chilly in here at 15.4 deg, 15 deg in the kitchen, 13 in the leanto.
993.5 mBar, 29.338 in Hg, 745.2 Torr, 14.41 psi, (down from 1002 last night), 60% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 9th of January 2020 LM's new Dell monitor was delivered whilst she was at the dentist and the caretaker took care of it, NF was rained on vigorously, and I discovered that my repairs to the path at the viewless point had washed away overnight (it's years since I've been up there, I wonder what it's like now), whereas Brillo and BR14 popped in.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the grey gloom, spots of rain, followed by rain rain. Back to the old route on the way back down.
Rather chillier than I'd thought: breath quite visible on the empty air. Glad I changed jackets before I ventured forth.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: something about dying languages.
Minor potching in the garage: tested the lights I removed from next door, & despite all the vibration they seem to have survived the experience. They'll come in useful as lights over the workbench.
Miserable afternoon, so I got bored & came up here instead.
Yesterday's Grand Conflagration burned everything to ash, and a bit of it is smoking even yet.
Tea: Tesco battered haddock. Nice enough.
Entertainment: Wassup Docs. PM.
Thunder.
Hammering down: rivers of water streaming along the road.
Entertainment: "how the Nazis lost the war" at 21:00 on 5 Select,<click> Can't stand the appalling narration. Dunno where they find these buffoons but I wish they'd put them back whence they came.
Lucy Worsley: The Princes in the Tower.
"J.R.R. Tolkien: Designer of Worlds" at 22:50 on Sky Arts. Not a fan so this last may rapidly go <click>.
Another 27 minutes about The Reichsleiter.

Feck. I think I just found one under the door.

^^ I still have that monitor.
Morning all

My coffee machine has rebelled against me and is demanding a descaling.Comment

Lunch has been leftover pakoras and samosas from Saturday night, reheated in the air fryer. They really do give you loads for your money at that place
Work is going smoothly - much more so than when "pairing" or "mobbing". The problem with having two or more people working on the same thing is that every minor issue ends up as a long discussion, with various theories being propounded and blind alleys explored
My theory is that the consultancy like it because it makes developers fungible: if it becomes worth their while to move somebody to something more lucrative, they can get away with it because that isn't the only person who knows about whatever they've been working on
Doesn't suit me though and I reckon it wastes time, as evidenced by the fact that I'm now having to work out how to stretch this ticket out to Thursday rather than just charging ahead and having it all sorted by the middle of this afternoon
And I even popped out this morning: round to the chemist's for the monthly prescription. One of the squirrels cut in front of me as I was walking back, heading under the gate of a nearby house with a big garden. They look like cute little things from up here when they're scampering around on the lawn, but they're pretty burly when you see them close upComment

Tea tonight was the last bit of the chicken and white wine thing I made a while back, with chips. Very tasty
