Watching all new 24 Hours in A&E. A good gruesome one to start the new series!

It appears my father wasn’t honest with me.
Before I went to visit, he told some of his friends he wasn’t feeling great (didn’t tell me)
While I was there, he wasn’t feeling great (didn’t tell me)
When I left, he told some friends he hadn’t been feeling great.
Today he had an “episode” (probably a TIA), and thankfully a doctor saw him when it happened. She took him to a health centre (not where she worked), and then drove him to hospital. She stayed with him for 4 hours in A&E while he waited to be seen.
Now having a CT scan.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Back in the Renaissance, things continue to be odd, though saving a Medici's life seems to be a pretty sure way to gain a good position if you survive the assassin's blade
I checked the archives and it seems last year when I dropped the car off for its service and MOT at 8:30 in the morning, it was ready at 5:30 that evening. I have no intention of wandering around the city centre for the entire day on Friday, so I'll probably come home instead

Morning denizens
Grey day with ongoing attempts to rain, though it hasn't gone much beyond spitting so far. Yet only fifty minutes ago, there was a rose gold glow suffusing the sky as the sun rose! Tempora mutantur and all that. It's 4°C but supposedly "feels like" -3°, and is expected to get to 9° which will probably feel fine. The barometers are steady at 999/1007mBComment

Morning.
Wednesday apparently, so it must have been Tuesday yesterday.
Grey.
Sunless.
Wet.
Chilly in here at 12.1 deg, 11.5 in the kitchen, 10 in the leanto.
1008 mBar, 29.766 in Hg, 756.1 Torr, 14.619 psi, (down from 1012 last night), 65% RH (Lidl electric).
Strange dream again: this time I was working in some college or other and found some toxic chemicals that should have been disposed of. Then I woke up.
Meanwhile on the 28th of December 2019 NF, LM, and I managed to get a post in during the endless drivelling.
Sun's out..
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the wan sunshiine. Picking with rain here & there. Chucking it down after I returned.
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: Y&Y on the Chinese knitted cardigan scam. <click> Guinness <click>
Freecell score: 97%, running average: 81%.
Tea: chilli con carne (tinned). Nice enough.
Entertainment: PM. Why are these green enthusiasts so fecking irritating? The mere fact that China alone emits more co2 in 10 years than the UK did since 1750 must indicate something of significance.
Book. Other book. Other other other book.
Maigret in Finland (1996). The other one where he's in Finland: the one with the criminologist, the Luger, and the bath tub.
Secrets in the Ice: more bollox on Blaze. Scythian burial mounds in Devitsa, Russia. Bolzano Italy military installations, dragon's teeth, concealed underground fortifications, built by dear old Mussolini. Kedarnath Temple, India. Markings on walls. Glacial expansion during the Little Ice Age. Marble Canyon, BC, Canada: Burgess Shale fossil: ?Horseshoe crab? nope: some weird radiodont. Freaky.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 26 February 2025, 23:57.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Morning all
Raining hard earlier, we got soaked.
Latest update from dad is that he is still sitting in a chair in A&E. After doing some scans they said they wanted to keep him in overnight. I kinda hoped that might have been in a bed.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
