    Morning denizens

Areas of blue sky out there today! Albeit with a bank of high, fairly thin cloud coming over the horizon from the southeast, or maybe receding in that direction. But some wan sunshine is getting through! Also, today was the first time this year that the sun's official sunrise at my location was before my first alarm of the morning

It's 5°C, and the wind has dropped a lot so only "feels like" 2° with an expected high of 10° and sunny spells with occasional cloudy spells are expected. The barometers are back up a bit at 999/1007mB

Blue skies with mist in the valleys but very wet under foot. A pleasant walk, none the less.

        Morning all

Cloudy. Wet from much overnight rain (woke me up about 0340). Currently 8 degrees with a high of 11 expected. Chance of rain still lingering but should clear up by lunchtime. Barometer up a smidge to 1012 mBar.

        Sunrise 06:55; Sunset 17:35

Just remembered I'm meeting a friend for dinner this evening in Richmond. It'll take about an hour to get there and I have a choice that comprises: 2 x bus, walk + bus, bus + mildmay line, bus + 2 x district line. All take about the same amount of time.

          Morning.

          Tuesday.

          Dry.

          Blue sky.

          Sunny.

Chilly in here at 13.2 deg, 12.5 in the kitchen, 10 in the leanto, 6 in the saltinghouse.

1010.5 mBar, 29.84 in Hg, 757.94 Torr, 14.656 psi, (up from 1007 last night), 66% RH (Lidl electric).

          Washing ongoing.

Meanwhile on the 28th of December NF managed to post that the towel wash had finished amidst Brillo's drivelling.

Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the sunshine. Flat newt spotted on the pavement.

          Lunch: brunch.

Entertainment: Y&Y waffling on about social meja <click> There's a chap saying he can remember the dot com bubble, I can remember the 1972 Barber boom. .

Freecell score: 94%, running average: 81%.

Washing ongone: that requiring the iRon received it, everything airing upstairs. Forgot the tshirt again. Never mind, it'll go in the basket for next time.

Entertainment: The Infinite Monkey Cage waffling on about The Sky at Night followed by 15 minutes of the one about mummies.

Tea: Tesco battered cod or haddock, probably haddock. Cod: I went & looked.

          Entertainment: PM. <click>

During the time between doing the iRoning in the salting house and popping back out to get a spud or two, a parcel delivery arrived, of which I was completely unaware. Must have knocked on the front door, which I can't hear from in here.

It's certainly getting enthusiastic about making sure I'm not an or : at the moment. Twice in an hour or so.

Lunch has been a few chicken wings and a bag of plain crisps

Sunny out. One of the blackbirds is taking advantage of it to delve around bear the hedgerow, while a bunch of pigeons are roaming more widely. A crow was poking about down there too but suddenly flew off; moments later, a couple of crows which are probably our regular ones came swooping along from the direction of the garages, so it must have seen them coming

Dust off your binoculars folks. On Friday, just after sunset, you should be able to see 7 planets out to the south west.

Tea has been sausages plus a pork breakfast patty with chips and beans. Nice change from the endless supply of chicken

This was accompanied by a new Traffic Cops in which they deviated from their normal format by devoting the entire episode to the investigation into a fatal collision
