Morning.
Sunday.
Dry.
Was gloomy, now wanly sunny.
Chilly in here at 11.8 deg, 11 deg in the kitchen, 9.5 deg in the leanto.
1016.5 mBar, 30.017 in Hg, 762.44 Torr, 14.743 psi, (down from 1017 last night), 61% RH (Lidl electric).
Meanwhile on the 25th of December 2019 it was Merry Bah! Humbug! Carry on, nothing to see here.
Walk (unabbreviated) walked in the original greyish gloom, eventually supplanted by wan sunshine.
Completely & utterly knackered now. I wonder if I'm coming down with something..
Lunch: brunch.
Entertainment: 20 minutes of Just a Minute.
Something or other that was on at 13:30ish.
Freecell score: 95%, running average: 81%. Rather less irritating than yesterday when it was all I could do to avoid punching the wall.
Book.
Tea: beans on toast etc.
Entertainment: that poetry programme pontificating about nothing in particular, I couldn't be arsed to find something else.
Shipping forecast.
18 o'clock news.
Sink hole thing on 4+1.
Alien Abduction: Travis Walton: Fire in the Sky guy. On Quest. One to beam up. <click>.
Viking Dead. on Blaze. <click>
Traitors on Blaze: Chinese spies stealing Tesla & Apple stuff. No comparison with last week's Blake of course whose spying killed dozens.Last edited by DoctorStrangelove; 2 February 2025, 22:08.When the fun stops, STOP.Comment

Lunch has been a beef bap (white) with some fries (reheated)
The fries were available because I made the rookie mistake of ordering a large portion from Five Guys last night. They take this extremely literally, apparently figuring that it means you and your extended family haven't eaten for three weeks so they'd better fill you all upComment

I finished Stories of Your Life and Others. It's very good, though I thought the final story was the weakest of the bunch.
And then I started reading Character Limit: How Elon Musk Destroyed Twitter by Kate Conger and Ryan Mac. I'm expecting to be reading about some utterly dumb thing he did and then see in the news that he's just done it again but this time to the US Government
And earlier, I managed to sort out something I've been stuck on for ages in the SwiftUI/SpriteKit stuff
Monday again tomorrow. Oh well
Goodnight allComment

Afternoon all, San Francisco calling, local time 1533 on Sunday 2 February
Bright but cloudy. Currently 15 degrees and the high was 16. Slight chance of a shower. Barometer at 1016 mBar.
Sunrise 07:12; Sunset 17:35
Currently in the United Polaris lounge awaiting flight 6 from San Francisco to Auckland. Managed to get a bit of sleep on the 12 hour flight over here. Now have 6 hours to kill until we leave. Got an issue with the Auckland to Sydney flight that needs to be fixed before I can have a shower and bit of a rest.Comment

Should have exited landside and then to the Air France desk for the proper Ultimate escort treatment.Comment
