    Morning all

Dull and cloudy. Currently 12 degrees with a high of 17 forecast. Low chance of rain. Barometer up to 1022 mBar.

Working today but I don't think anyone else is so it'll be a quiet day.

Was woken at 1.10am by screaming and wondered if someone was being murdered outside. Turns out next door's toddler has a fine set of lungs on him (maybe it was him being murdered? )

      Morning denizens

Grey start out, and not very warm at 12°C. We may get 17° later but it'll continue cloudy, though there isn't any rain planned. The barometers are back up a bit at 1016/1024mB

I see that even though it's a Bank Holiday, the BBC will not be giving us a showing of The Railway Children followed by Disney Time

        Morning.

        Dry.

        Grey.

        Gloomy.

Chilly in here at 17.1 deg, 18 deg in the kitchen (due to the fridge?), 14 deg in the leanto.

        Sunless.

1022 mBar, 30.179 in Hg, 766.56 Torr, 14.8228 psi, (up from 1020 last night), 72% RH.

        Monday.

Curiously went back to sleep at 08:00 to dream of an ancient colour tv, and next door's then tiled fireplace. Most odd.

Meanwhile back in January 1st 2019, Xogg was Binging Maps, NF was discussing x,y on CRTs, and I was regretting that the cat was too dumb to use the new access to the tin shed.

Goodness me. There seems to be sommat happening in that London.

The best bit so far is Bunter, the fat owl of the remove, who has a face like a smacked arse & had to process following the previous PMs. Not that one glories in his fall of course.

Both my tvs are on: one on the Red Button (no commentary), whilst the other is muted, with R4 doing its thing on the side.

Gosh. There's a delay between R4 & The Red Button & a further delay between the Red Button & BBC News.

Lunch: poached tomato and scrambled egg on Morrisons sunflower and pumpkin seed toasted crust, bramble jelly and marmalade on slices of not so toasted toast, red pippy corner yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

Inneresting. the hearse now has an escort of guardsmen and a remarkable number of armed plod. There's more guns around than you can shake a stick at.

Looks like the armed plod remained on the A308.

Oh look, there's our latest nonentity making her merry way up the steps.

Over the sea to Skye? .

The Freesat box was so innerested it switched itself off twice to save power.

Tea: meatballs with rice n peas, some pear halves, a yog, 0.91 pints of good Glengettie tea.

        Entertainment: PM.

Wheeler Dealers S12 E15: This fokker was a Messerschmitt KR200. Car SOS did one of those. I can't remember how they cut the dome. I'd have thunk a hotwire cutter would have been better.

Some nonsense on PBS about Neanderthals. Which I've seen before.

Abandoned Engineering (which gets ever less connected to anything engineering as seasons advance) "New" on Yesterday. S10 E3 "Enemy at the gates".

Edinburgh vaults under a bridge, Icelandic herring factory open from 1935 to 1954 by which time the herring population had crashed, Aleutian Island fort invaded by The Land of The Rising Sun, AustroHungarian Empire island fort: Punta Cristo.

The Oak Island nutjobbery on Blaze: S9 E3: "Stone Roadblock". As predicted last week they find some "First Nations" pottery which fecks things up by restricting where they can search to a small area around the money pit.

The lump of iron from last week does have traces of gold, possibly of south American origin, not pure but with 22% copper, and 2% Silver (or thereabouts).

Skin A&E: cyst on scalp, lipoma on upper back, some weird thing caused by a dental abscess, woman with moles: excised with sterile scissors, chap with a lipoma on his forehead. Particularly bloody ep. 5* aren't doing adverts, they're just running the programme through without a pause. I could get used to this.

Oddly enough, the Skin A&E place is close to where Strangelove Sis used to live.

          Morning.

          Grey.

          Nothing on TV
          No shops open
          Nothing to do

Reminds me of bank holidays when I was a child. Luckily there is streaming.

I think one of my neighbours went out to see if a shop was open. I think the petrol station is open.

Can't help thinking a Scammell flatbed would be quicker and easier

Ah but then Scammell would be "by Royal Appointment".

Glad I'm not carrying that coffin.

^^ ditto that - those lads did a sterling job

Friend of mine reckons HMQ isn't in the coffin that's been paraded about but has been left in peace in Windsor. I think that's plausible.

I watched the ceremony up to the point the lads dropped off the coffin and will pick up again once all the god-bothering is done. As filler, I'm now watching S6E3 of Trucking Hell.

Late breakfast / early lunch has been one of those part-baked baguettes cooked up and filled with some posh salami I found HWMBO had bought but never used and tomato.
