I decided to watch S13E1 of The Curse of Oak Island - a 2 hour double bill! They found ... a blue bead, a bit of lead shot and mud. Some bloke turned up with an old Portuguese coin claiming it came from the Money Pit donkeys years ago.

Then, for something more grounded in reality, I am watching the first episode of Critical: Between Life and Death.

Ran ghastly old ll3 to a U3A talk about sheep or something, didn't stay for the talk meself, I'm not a fan of sitting for ages listening to stuff, so went for walk and picked her up before a mince pie and tea. Usual nice old ladies I know there, just 1 bloke I'm acquainted with.

They were running a bit late, but once I got in they decided I don’t need anything doing.
They were wrong, my online tooth sensor shows me you need a filling. Send me £500 and I will email it to you.

Lunch: a hot dog, with a German frankfurter plus curry ketchup and crispy onions

The trip to the dentist went OK. I was able to find a parking space round the corner, which doesn’t always happen. They were running a bit late, but once I got in they decided I don’t need anything doing

    Morning all

Blue sky with high level wisps. Icy out earlier this morning from overnight rain, just damp now. Currently 6 degrees ('feels like' 2) and that's the high for the day. Slight risk of precipitation this afternoon. Barometer down to 1005 mBar.

    Sunrise 08:05; Sunset 16:10 GMT

I had a meeting at 9 am this morning. Atrocious. Then another meeting at 10 am, which I had organised. I haven't even had time yet for my second coffee and I've just heard the coffee machine turn itself off.

Chased up contract three that is supposed to start on Monday.

    Morning.

    Wednesday.

    Damp.

    Sunny.

    Blue sky in parts.

Chilly in here at 10.8 deg, 8.5 deg in the kitchen, 6 in the leanto, 3.8 in the saltinghouse.

1005 mBar, 29.68 in Hg, 753.8 Torr, 14.576 psi, (up from 1003 last night), 56% RH (Lidl electric).

Meanwhile on the 10th of March 2020 WTFH had the fluids changed in The Toy and then discovered his flight to that Italy was cancelled though he couldn't get a refund, covbob was despondent, I discovered that "they" had attempted to deliver Yet Another Modem thingie whilst I was out and LM was wondering why anyone would use varchar for time & date, whereas NF was wondering if his newly opened windows needed shutting before he froze to death.

Lunch: brunch. Entertainment: something on R4 that I half listened to. Y&Y <click>.

Walk (unabbreviated, towpath) walked in the sunshine/grey gloom. Water level much lower in the canal than it was a fortnight ago so I added some personally.

    Entertainment: The Directors: Ridley Scott.

    Tea: Tesco battered haddock.

Scotland Yard: the wall of death one.

Yesterday: Abandoned Engineering. Dover Castle tunnels: Dunkirk "victory". Poplar Hill Mansion Virginia during Civil War: slaves. Kolga Mansion & Estate, Estonia: more slaves except they're called serfs. Catherine the Great. Brodhead Naval Reserve Armory, Detroit. Joe Louis.

Blaze: Strange Evidence. Exploding sewers: fuel spill. Moving meat in a restaurant: probly frog meat "killed" at the table . Giant shark in the deeps. The Meg. . 2018 NY NY Xmas blue flash: substation explosion. The parting of the waters in HK harbour.

W: Elementary. S1 E "The Long fuse". The pager and the 4 year old bomb one.

Ice Age: the end of, 4/4 on 5Select. Wot happened when Doggerland etc. flooded.

And another ancient bottle of wine bites the dust. Gosh. I must be turning into a lush. A bit like him next door, though I have nowhere near his capacity judging by the empties in the recycling which were remarked on by next door but one. .

CBS, etc, but 5C when we went out earlier. Has dropped to 2 now. The bits of road that we walk on were quite slippy, but the fields and paths were no longer frozen solid, rather they are at the soft but not churned up stage of muddiness.
Dentist this afternoon - just the hygienist. If I have to see her more often during the year, I will hardly need to brush my teeth the rest of the time.

    Morning denizens

Cloudy start, and it’s the more clumped and jumbled kind of clouds rather than a flat sheet. It’s also pretty breezy. The overnight rain has cleared all traces of snow and ice from the place, which is handy as I need to drive over to the dentist’s this morning. It’s a non-freezing 2°C, though the breeze is supposed to make it “feel like” -6°; the high will be 5° but only briefly, in the early afternoon. The barometers have dropped to 990/998mB

I read some more of Exhalation tonight

Meanwhile, the weather app was very insistent that we’d get snow, and lots of it. But it’s still 3° and will remain there all night, and instead we’ve had some very heavy rain, accompanied by a breeze driving it against the windows, and will have some more soon. The weather app is still insisting that it’s snow though

I’ve got to go to the dentist for a checkup tomorrow morning, so I’m glad I won’t have to scrape ice and snow off the car after all

    Goodnight all
