Again, I appreciate your frustration. However, it ultimately helps you to think analytically about the situation. There’s nothing unfair about charging interest on late payments. If there’s no late payment, there will be no interest. You can argue about the rate, and you can argue about their incompetence and their hard-nosed disposition more generally - I would agree on all counts - but it’s hard to argue that HMRC should take a real-terms hit for underpayment of tax. There are many things to be positive about in your case against HMRC. Ultimately, I think their case will fail. However, it makes perfect sense to mitigate the risks by making a PoA against any interest that will legitimately accrue in the event they do win. -

And the repayment interest rate of 4.25% ain't too shoddy either.Originally posted by jamesbrown View PostHowever, it makes perfect sense to mitigate the risks by making a PoA against any interest that will legitimately accrue in the event they do win.

This a Mod speaking. Tone down your comments in future or you will find yourself locked out of the forum for a few days to cool down.Originally posted by anthonymccabe90It is bonkers, it's unfair, it’s ludacris, it’s disgusting, it’s bullying and it should be illegal. I hope that there ultimately is an inquiry into this at some point in the future and these people are held to account. They're manipulating complex and little known legislation retrospectively for the sole purpose of catching normal working people out because they’re scrambling for funds. Mate tbh, if your not affected by this and are sitting on this forum agitating people who are, then pls just go away. terrible person – this for some of us, is utterly terrifying and has the potential to ruin our lives and our families lives. Same to anyone else on here just lurking to make smart comments to people who are here for a bit of information, assurance and a community to share the misfortune we’re going through. Won’t be coming back to read your inevitable smarmy response so don’t bother."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

My guess would be Churchill Knight. This thread got a lot quieter after they were on here advertising paid membership to their portal for ‘updates, etc.’ aimed at anyone from BOOX who has had zero updates.Originally posted by gikap View Post
