For the latter I'd like to nominate the Tibetan blackbird. Obviously having Tibet in its common name is a drawback, but its Latin name (turdus maximus)http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turdus_maximus should indicate what we stand for admirably. Besides, if you're going to nick stuff from another country, Tibet should be ideal.Comment

Here's my nomination for the national anthem, because it doesn't sound anything like a national anthem and just because I like it. The world needs less marching songs and more boogie woogie drinking songs.
