And if you really wanted a smart Mercedes 4X4, you'd get a G-Class. That is quite good taste.
Again, all down to personal choice; I think it looks like a brick, is seriously overpriced and is very ugly. GL is elegant, smooth, and far nicer. But again, this is just an opinion.

I think the reason he didn't realise it was worse than the SUV's he was so angry at, was down to his stupidity, nothing about any perceived subtlety in the Jag; I could spot one from 400 metres, and I think it's vulgar.

Anyway, I bought it to save the planet. I was tempted by a Daimler Double Six with a 5.3 litre V12.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Very good. I would have thought Dodgy Agent one of those tied up.

First I car I scared myself in was a friends old XJ12 5.3. Very fast, at the time, but a handful to keep going in a straight line at 140mph.

          Foolish boy in the corner.

MTT, your car weighs 1.791 tonnes. It's a fact.

You must be trying to be CUK's biggest

Millions drive small cars every day and they are not crashing and dying. The only ones crashing are muppets like yourself who cannot drive properly and think that by sitting inside a big lump of metal you are shielded from any crash.

I absolutely ******* hate SUVs, up to a point. I can understand if you live out in the country, have crap roads, children need to get to school (we had school buses in my day which visited all the little villages to pick up the kids, I had to walk 3 miles there and back each day though) and do have a good excuse for them but the moronic brain dead idiots who live in towns have no need for them and all they do is cause chaos and congestion with them, and they're not safer than most decent saloon cars. What I do hate is the ****ers on the motorway with them, they're too tall so you can't see whats in front, the idiots who drive them, drive them dangerously as they believe that they're in a safer vehicle, when they're behind you the lights shine in your mirror because they're too tall, they won't get out of your way even when you know they're at their limits, etc, etc, etc. The majority of people driving them seem to have no road sense, probably because they feel that nothing can touch them in their monster steel box.

Use them for what they were made - Sports Utility Vehicle - not as a substitute for driving safely.
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Hmm, apparently not it would seem judging by this latest example of your latest.

              So only SUV's crash hum?

My oh my, no wonder the bobs are coming and taking jobs if you're an example of how the country is heading.

Has it occurred to anyone yet (haven't read the whole thread, clearly) that a prestige SUV, no matter how ugly, might just have something to do with a million-user market developing in China right now...? Old millionaires (i.e. those above 30) buy Rollers and the like, young ones buy SUVs.

Why else would Rolls Royce be thinking of doing one?
                Blog? What blog...?

Oh it's occurred to me, yes, but I still don't think Jag should build one.

                    Some sense at last.

Most if the issues I have seen on our roads aren't by SUV's being idiotic, but mainly by van drivers, and higher end saloon cars trying to mount the car in front on the motorways.

Bad driving is the cause of most accidents, not the type of car.

Oh, btw, I am accident free for over 30 years.
