And if you really do look, look at their FF as 'never doing a 4x4'; could be an indicator things could change.
Let us also remember FIAT own Maserati, Ferrari, JEEP, DODGE, etc, etc. They can say they'd never do an SUV, but I can recall Lamborghini, Porsche, Jaguar, Bentley, etc, etc, etc all saying the same thing.

In all fairness, when they started the supercar arm they said they'd only produce supercars better in quality than Ferrari. Then they tendered for an army contract with the LM002, using their 4x4 knowledge, the rest was down to not getting the contract.
