Caught the early train to Waterloo and sat next to this lovely middle-eastern looking girl. Yum.

If it had been a phone or stereo, I'd definitely have said something. A polite 'do you mind?' whilst pointing at the peace car sticker may have worked or it could quite easily had your limbs torn offOriginally posted by Lockhouse View PostIf it had been a phone or stereo, I'd definitely have said something. I usually do.Comment

The most irritating, in the days before quiet carriages, was the chap who every evening would noisily go through a pile of paper notes, all on separate A5 sheets.Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostIf it had been a phone or stereo, I'd definitely have said something. I usually do.
I never realised that you could make so much noise shuffling paper, but he did.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Coincidentally, the Inter City I got on Friday was differently* configured, with the same result: a wonderfully peaceful quiet carriage.Originally posted by zeitghostThe 125 on Friday was reverse configured, so 1st class was at the rear.
Giving the emptiest peasant class Quiet coach I've ever seen.
* although the announcements had it that the configuration was radically different, it seemed to me that they'd just tacked a few carriages on the end of the normal train.Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.Comment

Now sitting in train to the Hague for afternoon meeting.
First class, plenty of seats, no OAPs, no smells, no orchestra and no cellists. Electricity socket functioning according to expectations. Mobile internet working sometimes.
This can only go wrong. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment

Intercity back home, full but I have a seat. Cheapo naffo crappy double decker without electricity sockets and with a disgraceful loo, obviously a fresh victim of chav vandalism. Oh dear, train is slowing down repeatedly. Obviously behind a slow train again, sorry, as per bloody usual. And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014Comment
