weak excuse for having bought a Scorpions album. Come on admit it. It could be worse; could be Bon bloody Jovi.

If you knew me and my taste in music I think, hope, you would believe that it was left by the previous owner.

It works well as an ice scraper, so I will keep it. Unless I can find a cheap CD with a better picture on the cover.

Train 4 minutes late. Reason: snow.

The bus took the steep hill with due caution but I could hear the front wheel ABS working at full tilt just before the turn down around the housing estate. Not surprised when it carried straight on to my stop.

By 11 am a full blizzard was on and the snow was settling. I packed up my laptop ready to go at that point. Unnecessarily as it turned out, but I still left at 4 to be on the safe side.

Home, safe, warm and dry, provisions laid, in by 16:45.

Flights were fine last night dispite a dusting of the white stuff.

Trains and ferry also tickety boo today.

Some massive chunks of ice on the river including one with a tree lying on it.

            Price rises

Just gauging whether anyone has encountered any price rises this morning. I guess they won't register until season ticket renewal time but please DO post here and let me know of any rises as I am in regular correspondence with the rail operators. Likewise if you experience any of the improvements that said rises are to fund then let me know.

              Pondlife in German train shocker!

The train stopped for 6 mins between stations meaning that I missed my usual connection and had to wait a further 4 mins for the next train. This whole sorry debacle meant I was ten mins late for my ferry, which left on time and so I had to wait for the next one.

The people in work have been very symathetic. A nice lady got me a cup of coffee.

You working in Hamburg as there's a site there where you have to get the ferry to work?

Bit of an icy walk to the station but trains running fine.

Big sheets of ice in the river.

No time for coffee or croissant this morning.

No train journey today; a ten minute ride in the contractormobile and a short walk through a leafy and rather stylish neighbourhood to clientco.

                      Sorry all.
