You're still being charged £2 more for your 0's and 1's.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -

"I think I might have read something somewhere that said something or other" is hardly a solid body of fact on which to base an opinion.Originally posted by PAH View PostI could have sworn I saw a piece saying there will be a new iBooks site to download stuff for the iPad from and they'll charge extra for the ebooks of hardback editions. http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi?Am...rom=USD&To=GBPOriginally posted by NickFitz View PostI just had a look on the iTunes store for Neil Young's album Harvest, on the basis that it's been around a good while so the price won't be affected by promotions and such. UK price: £7.99; US price: $9.99.
Similarly for other artists I looked at.
Not £6.71 then.
Why do we always get stiffed? I know it's better than yesteryear but still.Comment

I'm not convinced. The iPad is wireless only so that limits the pool of organisations that can use it - otherwise, I would have a seen of lot laptops being carried around.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostI think it will be brought to meetings, when there's a need to quickly show off information while you've got the audience's attention rather than being caught faffing around with cables trying to set up a projector asking Mr IT where the network cable is to connect to the company server - etcComment

The screenshots seem to indicate the iBookstore could meet somewhere in the middle for new releasesCoffee's for closersComment

Yep, the thing I can see it being used for is advertising/meedja types to show off things in presentations. It's right up their street.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostI think it will be brought to meetings, when there's a need to quickly show off information while you've got the audience's attention rather than being caught faffing around with cables trying to set up a projector asking Mr IT where the network cable is to connect to the company server - etcComment

...which doesn't say anything that could be interpreted as supporting the OP's contention. All it says is that publishers are pissed off at what they perceive as Amazon forcing them to sell stuff for less than they think it's worth, and may choose to go with Apple if they think they'll get a better return on their investment.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostComment

Can't see that happening to be honest. Only one/two people can view it at once. You're better off with print outsOriginally posted by scooterscot View PostI think it will be brought to meetings, when there's a need to quickly show off information while you've got the audience's attention rather than being caught faffing around with cables trying to set up a projector asking Mr IT where the network cable is to connect to the company server - etc
Also, Can you connect it to a) a projector or b) the network (not wifi) once IT bod has found some cables?Comment
