It's nicely timed for bankers' bonuses isn't it?Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away. -

I think it's more to do with all the hype and anticipation building it up to be another big step forward and all we get is a supersize iPhone.
Today it's probably as good as any other tablet device of similar size and weight, but it's what is likely to be out later this year (not least the MS Courier and a multitude of colour e-ink devices) that makes this fall short of expectations.
Though at the end of the day it's an Apple so bound to sell loads. Caught the BBC News last night and a geezer at Carphone Warehouse said up till now they'd not bothered selling these mini-tablet devices (which are little more than netbooks without keyboards), but may change their mind with the iPad. Says it all.
Personally I'm waiting to see what else is released this year, in the hope something truly next gen appears, as I'm not desperate for one of these types of devices, it would merely be a nice to have.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

I suspect it was set at £1=$1 when it became available, and has tracked the exchange rate since then.Originally posted by Pondlife View Posthttp://www.xe.com/ucc/convert.cgi?Am...rom=USD&To=GBP
Not £6.71 then.
Why do we always get stiffed? I know it's better than yesteryear but still.Step outside posh boyComment

Go BG, stuff you SJ woot woot...Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

I didn't read the whole thread to see if anyone echoed my thought but there are enough .... can't think of a word that won't get 'tuliped'.... 'people' that buy it because it exists.
A bit like Stephen Fry openly admiting he was going to buy one whatever it did. Moron. Unfortunately there are a million students out there with far too much of daddies money burning a hole in their pocket who will do exactly the same...
I don't know why Apple don't sack their entire market department. If they used the term iPad - it's cool. they wouldn't need to do another thing.
BTW you saw that idea here first ok!!!!'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

It will be redundant when they start making portable computers with build in screens and wireless networking.Originally posted by scooterscot View PostI think it will be brought to meetings, when there's a need to quickly show off information while you've got the audience's attention rather than being caught faffing around with cables trying to set up a projector asking Mr IT where the network cable is to connect to the company server - etcWhile you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you.
