Feel free to tell me to shove off, I'm interested if its slim fast thats helping with weight loss or sensible eat ?
8am - slimfast fruits of the forest meal bar. 200 calories.

12noon - Snack. 100 cals of salad or fruit from Morrisons salad bar.

1:30pm - slimfast chocolate meal bar. 200 calories.

5pm (on the train) - Snack. pretzals or cheddars. 100 cals

7pm - 600 calorie meal. Typically small portion of fish, small jacket potato, half a plate of veg.

9pm - another snack if wanted (or you could have had it at 10am, or you could have a glass of wine instead, or save it up through the week for a friday night out, etc etc)

So basically, I have 3 or 4 slim fast products a day, but I reckon I'll stop having their snacks once I've ate all theones I bought.

You can have shakes or smoothies instead of the bars, but the bars are so tasty!!!! And you feel like you're eating something. I dont know why anyone would have a shake.

One thing I've noticed - day 1 and 2 I was very hungry. Now I'm not. My evening meal is the tastiest thing I have ever had in my life! Every night!
My jacket potato last night had no butter or anything on and it was absolutely fricken gorgeous!!
Also - I've become aware of how little food there is in 600 cals. But how it is more than enough! The first night I had pasta as my carb, and made a pan of what I thought i would be allowed. I looked at the packet once it had cooked and saw that 100g was 350 cals!!!!!! So I had cooked about 5 times too much! Which normally, I would have just ate!!

SO its basically a calorie controlled diet, but with masses of nutrients packed into the meal bars. Seriously - I feel amazing at the minute. And my skin is glowing - very radient.

SA when you are in Tesco or M&S next, do a comparison between a pasta +Veg salad and Chicken +veg salad, you'd notice that you can have 2 or 3 chicken salads for the same calorie count as one pasta salad...

Wheat is calorie dense food, you are better off eating fish/chicken or even a steak, my dinner of grilled Steak and a huge salad is only 450 calories - and I feel so full when I eat it....

yeah I'm starting to notice that!! I was amazed!!

I could eat a massive plate of pasta and think I'm being good!!

I guess this is what you mean by choose the foods you love, and sacrifice the ones you dont - I'd be happy to have pasta like once a year or something!

Whoa!! Hang on .... be very careful of replacing carbs with protein .... your kidneys need carbs to work properly (I can verify this having been hospitalised following atkins in my youth). Yes - wheat is probably not the best carb to go with but eating without any carb at all (apart from the bits you get in your salad) is an absolute no-no - so going with a wheat-free diet is fine but not with a carb-free one.

Also had kidney probs on Slimfast BTW but they have changed it since then and does now include more carbs both in the products and in the evening meal recommendation.

Yeah I have to have a quarter carbs for my evening meal, ideally. All I was sayin was that when I had pasta for it, it took up most of my calories!
A nice potato or a bit or rice or cous cous would be better I think.
Or even a bread roll Mmmmm - getting hungry now

SA – glad you can see my point, sorry for ranting there, but I do feel passionate about nutrition, sometimes when am doing my weekly food shopping, I feel I want to go and educated everyone who reaches for the wrong choices, sometimes I hear people talking about going on a diet then they reach for the Pasta packets or Sandwiches (did you know that a huge bowl of casserole has less calorie count than a bought sandwich) oh and don’t get me started on the biggest con of a 100 calories biscuits….. I cringe when I see commercials advertising what they claim to be healthy foods when all they are doing is making people fatter and unhealthy just to reach into their pockets.

Sorry I told I feel passionate about the subject

You can have all the carb you want in the form of naturally carb foods e.g. veg, fruits or root vegetables (potatoes/sweet potatoes/ pumpkins/ butternut squash)
Pasta / Wheat is not naturally made, there is loads of chemicals and stuff in it... but as I said YMMV

                      I agree with Sandy.

Eat more veg, fruit and protein and stay off any carbs that are manufactured (alcohol, cakes, biscuits, bread, pasta etc).

This works. There is enough carbs in natural veg and fruit. Up the protein if you are exercising a lot.
