        Yes it does. If we employ an immigrant then we pay the local to be unemployed.
        It would be better to pay some of the dole to an employer to get the local chap into work rather than employing a cheaper foreignor.

          Would you not employ somebody to make sandwiches if it cost you nothing more than basic training (which you would have to do anyway)? Simple equation for the employer is it worth paying full price for an imported unit or just a little effort for a home grown one? Then perhaps after 3/12 the subsidy is half and after 12/12 nowt??? Well you know I think I would take the cheap option and see how it goes.
