That's already the reality in some parts of the country. There was Panorama programme about it recently.

Yeah because we have protected that so well in the past.

I suspect the Government will sensibly fall back to O/S Addressbase data which is compiled by the councils. Add a change my address / add alias front end and make the base data freeish to use and Bob's your uncle.

No reason not to hive off the Parcel service and make it compete if that is what they want
