yes three phase is more costly for an underground cable than over head lines. DNO's are very reluctant to have three phase in domestic installations due to the potential difference between single phase appliances. With three phase you need to bring in a neutral as your would have single phase loads. But I think some DNOs are now having to look into it.Originally posted by ladymuck View Post

You're missing a trick. You don't need a generator you need a van full of batteries. This can deliver a far, far larger wattage to the limit of the 'pipe' you can supply - proper fast charge. You will need to recharge your own batteries of course but that's just logistics and you can reasonably get several car charges from your van especially if you only charge people enough to get to where they need to go with its own charger.
