If we can't figure out the Irish border, what happens if Scotland join the EU?

The Scottish border should be simpler than the Irish border. There might be practical difficulties (in terms of stopping smuggling), but in general terms you'd have a land border between 2 separate countries (similar to how Switzerland does it). The problem at the moment is that you either have border in the middle of the UK (between GB and NI) or between NI and the Republic of Ireland.

LAbour/Tory can't really speak much. THe Scottish Conservative leader has essentially told people that if Boris is still leader, they shouldn't vote Tory.

The two are very closely linked but not exactly the same. Many people vote SNP because the alternatives are just a bunch of clusterf***s but that doesn't mean they support independence.
That works the other way around too. Scottish independence is not just backed by SNP voters. There are a lot of people here that vote labour and tories and they also do support Scottish independence.

In my opinion, and especially after what happened in 2014, Sturgeon will not call for a referendum unless she's 100% sure she'll win.

1 more year of boris should be enough to change the minds of a lot of folks in Scotland who don't yet support independence.

Or a united Ireland within the EU.
Ireland can't afford a united ireland unless the EU picks up the tab - not too sure how happy the Germans would be about that, not to mention that there are a bunch of people in Northern Ireland who'd fight tooth and nail-bomb to stop that from happening.

Considering that Frau Sturgeon has listed "Boris Johnson" as one of the three "ills" afflicting Scotland along with "Covid" and "Brexit" I would suggest that his demonisation has already begun.
