Having just setup a BBS for my Narrowboat syndicate, I decided to go with phpBBS, not least of which because it had a vBulletin import plugin (the old forum being vB).

As we're being picky, we don't have a democracy either. We have (at best) a Parliamentary Democracy, that means the cretins voted in today get the democracy bit, we get to pay for it....

That's the point, you're not voting for the party to 'do it's thing', you are voting for your local MP who may or may not agree (even with their own party) with any motion. In theory, if it's a motion that affects their constituency then they should consider those who voted for them.
