Must admit this made I larf
"86" means "get rid of" - it derives from 1930s café slang for "throw out" or "refuse to serve", mostly likely as rhyming slang for "nix".
Various snowflakes have adopted it since it is a lot nicer than saying "Kill", apparently. (Same logic as others are using the hideous "unalive", both as adjective and verb. )
But obviously if you are a paranoid megalomaniac, you will prefer that it says "kill" rather than "depose" since then you make a real fuss about it.Blog? What blog...? -
