    Did our Europhiles miss this?

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...es-Moscow.html

France and Germany 'sold £230million of military hardware including bombs, missiles and guns to Moscow' - likely used in Russia's invasion of Ukraine - despite EU-wide arms embargo in wake of 2014 annexation of Crimea
    • The EU banned 'the direct or indirect sale, supply, transfer or export of arms'
    • Countries used a technicality that permitted contracts signed before 2014
    • France was responsible for making €152 million as part of 76 export licences

I'm not sure £230M lasts long in modern warfare.
Certainly not in the same ball park as 1B a day in oil/gas sales.

Slow news day at the Hate Mail?

I suspect its the tip of the iceberg.

Who are the mail accused of hating today? I thought nations supporting Russia was news? The Times, Independent are covering the story, sadly the Manchester Slaver and Aunty don't seem to be covering it, I wonder why?

Deflecting its believers from how well received their Basic Instinct article was, and that they couldn't run a "Hurrah for Le Pen" headline.

A Europhile wouldn't be reading a hateful rag like The Daily Mail.

As a citizen of a European country, aren't you a Europhile? Or are you a perfidious traitor?

Btw - I read about this yesterday. Thank goodness we live in free countries where it can be reported.
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Fortunately thanks to Brexit, we're not banned?

pre 2014 contracts don't feel relevant to what is happening today in Ukraine.

Do you know when the arms were actually sold/delivered and what was delivered (I can't be bothered to read the actual article).

As already noted 230m doesn't buy you much, so probably not many intercontinental missiles got for that cash eh?

Actually I am an Anglophile, I pledged allegiance to Queen & Country a long time ago.

Sadly I can't love Europe in the same way and the EU is broken and has shown again and again they wish us ill. You can't be a traitor to an organisation you never professed loyalty to.

2014 was the last time Pootin went invading, is there a statute of limitations on invading other countries?

So if you only buy a few million dollars of illegal weapons then it doesn't really count?
