    Doom

With European stock markets crashing today, and oil well over $100.

It looks like are heading for another recession. Recessions always happen when oil goes over $100. As if inflation wasn't already high enough.

This is happening because of the economic sanctions and not due to the war (wars tend to be good for business).

Seems like these sanctions are a knee jerk reaction, will probably hurt us as much as Russia and do nothing to stop the war. But they make us feel good that we punishing Putin (who will still get to live like a tsar in his palaces)

You have China, India and Pakistan. Half the worlds population eager to buy Russian resources when Europe stops buying.

What I find increasingly concerning is how the far right are backing Putin and blaming NATO and the EU for the invasion.

"Poor Vlad is innocent, it's the nasty NATO and EU that started it all by not invading and killing..."

Next will be - "Americans also bombed Drezden, therefore it's totally ok to bomb Ukrainian cities because they are all nazies there"

Not sure about concerning in the sense that it was totally predictable, but it’s the far left and the far right.

            Just heard.

Ukrainians can have a cease fire to leave their cities.

As long as they go to Belarus or Russia....

And a Scottish trawler has ‘capsized’ just off Norway. One dead (inhaling diesel?), 5 rescued.

                  And a bit of anonymous...

                  https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/anonymous...an-tv-ukraine/

The digital activism collective was said to have affected services as footage emerged of a TV showing clips from the frontline.

It appears to be an attempt to bypass heavy restrictions imposed by the Kremlin to control the narrative over the war.

A Twitter account called "Anonymous TV" said: "The hacking collective #Anonymous today hacked into the Russian streaming services Wink and Ivi (like Netflix) and live TV channels Russia 24, Channel One, Moscow 24 to broadcast war footage from #Ukraine."

The hack subverts draconian attempts by the Russian government to control the narrative over the Ukraine war, which it has instead characterised as a "special military operation" to "demilitarise" and "denazify" its ex-Soviet neighbour.

It has imposed the threat of a jail term of up to 15 years for people who spread what it calls misinformation.

So Putin sending his armed forces, including those who didn't know it wasn't a training exercise, into another country is Nato's fault?

Putin's disinformation has done a good job on you.
