I should imagine a number of SS soldiers mothers were encouraging them. Same as Alexander the great and Genghis khan's troops mothers, that is sort of what mums do.

I have a heavy amount of skepticism of these numbers, but got to confess I had zero idea of the numbers and, as you say, even if only half correct that is a hell of a large number of things that cost a lot of roubles. No wonder Putin is in a panic, his army is being taken apart by one single country. If he didn't have nukes his army would have been forced to surrender already.

I can't believe we can get any accurate figures but this site does attempt to list it from video and photographic images. It's a pretty mad site as you can look at each one and there is a lot of destroyed stuff on there. It is dated Feb though. Not sure if it's kept up to date

It's kept up to date and it's a good minimum verified vehicle losses, typically they'd get a jump up once occupied territory is liberated and vehicles hit by long range artillery fires are filmed.

It's only been 2+ months since 24 Feb - proven losses are staggering
