To be fair the MP whinging is ignoring that the most important role models are the adults around children/young adults'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

LOL yeah. I think he's talking about every single male role model being picked on for a nice daubing of wokeism. Hard to find a character/role that isn't at least been touted for change if it hasn't already. As much as I don't mind in many cases the female James Bond is just utterly ridiculous. Just no need.Originally posted by GregRickshaw View PostI do almost get what he is saying. The whole "toxic masculinity" thing does paint men as being pretty awful... I was actually quite surprised although probably shouldn't be, to see BBC News actually has a "toxic masculinity" news category to tag such stories.Originally posted by GregRickshaw View PostI do almost get what he is saying. Maybe teaching young guys that being a man is shameful is what pushes them to act badly. Tell a child they're bad enough and they tend to believe it.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

And if you don't tell a child that they are bad, then they become the entitled woke snowflake whatever the current decrepit right wing term is for anyone under 55 who doesn't share their opinion on things.Originally posted by d000hg View PostMaybe teaching young guys that being a man is shameful is what pushes them to act badly. …Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

We need more of the male role models that we had in the last few decades - Danny LaRue, Les Dawson, Julian Clary, Paul O'Grady, Paul Shane, etc!…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

That's not quite what it means - the idea is to distinguish between toxic and non-toxic variations. (As an analogy, if I mention "hot drinks", that doesn't mean that all drinks are hot; it's to distinguish between hot drinks and cold drinks.)Originally posted by d000hg View Post

My 12-year-old daughter is onto this, so it has got to have some truth in it. Says the boys at school are really messed-up, very badly behaved - and she's at a good grammar.Comment

They need a regular dose of a violent sport like boxing that has clear boundaries with male coaches who take no tulip and have high expectations of them.Originally posted by TwoWolves View PostMy 12-year-old daughter is onto this, so it has got to have some truth in it. There are actually youth projects aimed at boys that do exactly this and it works e.g.
