      Not so. My Uncle was a paramedic ambulance driver and hew said in most RTAs the most common place to take a pulse was the groin as it was usually one of the few areas they can reach quickly.

        I'd say the thoracic aorta splits higher up than the pelvis from the MRIs I've worked with. Not sure if it would be common, external or internal iliac you'd stomp on.

            The butcher in the then shop at the top of the road had a nasty accident when a boning knife slipped & he cut his femoral artery.

            Despite being within 3 miles of A&E he was dead before he got there.

            Strangely enough, the wearing of chainmail aprons by the local butchers rocketed for at least 6 months afterwards.

            Gosh. That was a mere 43 years ago.

            Doesn't time fly when you're not enjoying yourself.

                Yes and that's why it was an aim point for Roman soldiers, they were trained to stab not slash, hence the short double edged sword.
