There is another side to in/actions such as this. What would have happened if he tried to help, got her half way up and then slipped and she cracked her skull?
A lad I vaguely knew in the RAF saw a car accident and a young woman was terribly injured with her left leg hanging off and bleeding profusely from her aorta. He tried pressure and wrapping coats round etc to no avail. So he then pulled her skirt up and stood on her aorta in her groin to slow down the bleeding until the ambulance arrived. Undoubtedly he saved her life.
A couple of months later the police contacted him with allegations of sexual assault! Which rumbled on for nearly a year.
But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the younger

Lifting a woman's skirt up then standing on someone aorta is a bit weird.

If you have an aorta in your groin, something is seriously wrong. Maybe it wasn't her aorta he was looking at when he pulled up her skirt.
Your aorta splits in your pelvis into the common iliac vessels, they are nearest the surface in your groin and yes they have aortic pressure which is why you can bleed out so fast. They are also where they attach kidney transplants too because of the copious blood supply.

Seems it depends exactly where. However to close it standing on the edge of the pelvis could stop it.
Sounds like the lad did well, I am sure the doctor confirmed that. The Police of course failed to understand.
