You've been there long enough that you should get a decent payout, shouldn't you?
I understand the concern at finding more work when you're getting on a bit, and in Wales, but if they're probably going to dump you soonish anyway then you might as well walk now with the cash.Comment

Will the pay off allow you to finish work forever? or will you have to find a job in B&Q say for any reason apart from passing the time...

Given the result of the recent general election, I'd think a well-paid exit from the public sector, or any field that is to an extent dependent - even indirectly - on funding controlled by central government, is an opportunity to consider very seriously. Unless, of course, they're likely to offer even more to get rid of you a year from now, when the cuts are really biting.Comment

I got VR from the civil service in 1994 (at a time where CS redundancies weren't that common, so we got great enhancements) and it was by far the best thing I've ever done !!When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment
