Care to list some of these actual, tangible reasons where ClientCo sees clear differences in the day-to-day workings of FTE and contractors? Other than pay.

Contractors are viewed as employees just like everyone else despite the delusions of some on here. Most contractors would view themselves as this as well.

I guess you live in a different bum-on-seat world. I bid for work, typically with other companies, often fixed price, extremely niche, generally overseas, direct, no agents. Have never had a problem with a client confusing me with a permie. Perhaps not typical, but I dare say there are quite a few like me and many others that do mostly T&M work that don’t treat their clients like employers. Weird impression you have.

I've got to say - it's great to hear opportunities coming in, and 9/10 outside of IR35.

I think we possibly got what we wanted - the companies stopped taking the easy advice of the 'consultants' and actually made their roles outside of IR35, in name and in spirit. Everybody wins.

I am being absolutely swamped with calls from agents looking for Scala developers at the moment.

I am hoping something decent and outside IR35 comes along because I am fed up losing 44% of everything at the moment.

That's the £64,000 question - how do you stop losing 44% when you can't drum up Outside IR35 contracts from outside of nowhere?

Sadly, there is not enough UK baseds tiny clients that fit the Small Company Exemption.
It appears you following along the journey - step 1) not using your LTD company for 12 months, astep 2) Close your LTD and then step 3) decide the type: Inside IR35 contractor, fixed-term or become employed, or do a partnership / executive / consultancy (run a proper business with employees)

Small UK companies and fully overseas supply chains, which is a pretty big pool. Personally, I've stopped working for UK supply chains, even fixed price, because the current situation is a shambles.
