    Desperate times, indeed. Dudie.
I am laughing my head off, but when I stop laughing and think sensibly about the second income, then how does fly in terms of family commitment, leisure / work.
The agent is clueless about PAYE / IR35 / Off Payroll Woker rules

    Here is my surprise...

Ah. Thank you Eek. This is useful to know there is no flim-flam on the SDS. I know of one contractor, who left us 1 month ago, they said they obtained Outside IR35 gig. I thought they were a pulling a fast-one. The inflexibility makes total sense, because the consultancies have a fixed budget and already...

The irony of the above is telling.

It sounds to me like fake news, because ultimately the fee-payer in the off-payroll rules since 2021 is the HMRC themselves making Status Determination Statements; so are they (agencies / big four consultancies) making it up as they go along?...

And yet those stories about a skills shortage in information technology keep coming through... also the south Asians will be / are getting new work visa soonish ... what else is new?

As far as America goes, watching from Buckinghamshire, I see constant lay-offs to do with ill-fated web3...

It's petty, but let it go. You said s***w them, so the client didn't like it. At least you are out. You had one really bad apple of gig in 25 years. You are joking, ok? Ok?

Can you start the next contract (assuming you have it lined up) sooner, 2 weeks earlier?
    Otherwise just take...

  • Assuming you can genuinely source those *Outside* IR35 contracts; and to quote Rudyard Kipling, in his Barrack-room ballads, 1892: "Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet."...

Pre-pandemic - one stage phone interview were you answered just a few questions, they seem less interested in your architectural philosophy, software development experience. Contracts that eventually recognised as Easy Start, Easy Exit. (Suddenly there is no more budget)...

  • With that £141,000 you are well above £100K of personal allowance. So the whole is fully taxed. My brain hurts, I don't remember the calculation working out....
