I wrote back, pointing out their mistakes; they replied, apologising, but still stating that me being in a DT scheme in 2006/2007 is still correct. That ticks me off quite a bit...

Am I allowed to ask them to show me their source or where they got their info from?

I don't mind much if they have some issue about me using the DT shield as that's quite expected, but falsely accusing me is another matter.

Apparently this can happen where the partnership that you're part of has been operating longer than you've been in it for. HMRC tar all partners with the same brush, assume they've been in it since it was formed and then put people under investigation for years that they weren't in the scheme. Certainly inspires confidence in them!

ABout time. I think we are all entitled to contact them with questions. If they wish to keep requests down then they should be providing regular updates on this.

About time they started communicating. While I wish to back montp in every way possible - its hard over this point. This thread just should not be necessary. They should have an official closed group hosted by them : I bet 99% of issues that come up are similar?

Any news on the JR? Are there any skeleton legal arguments yet? What about other double taxation victims(de graaf etcetc.)?

At the very least they should be giving a monthly update.

I know the MD of montp got an email with a link to this thread - about time it was acted upon.

They do seem to bring these problems partly on themselves. I emailed them my CNs the other week and asked them to confirm receipt. After 3 days I hadn't heard back so I called them and was told they had been received and printed off etc - would it have really been that difficult for someone to hit the reply button at that time to save me worrying and bothering them with another (uneccessary) phone call?

I'll be looking forward to the update anyway...

            Communication

For what it costs in time & money to issue a monthly newsletter, surely it must be worth it to cut down on the endless phone calls and emails they are getting? The other danger of not keeping people regularly informed is that the vacuum gets filled with wild speculation and FUD like that HMRC "newsletter".

I worked in Customer Service for 15 years and one thing I learned is that regular proactive communication (even if there isn't much to report) is greatly appreciated.

IMO, the other thing MP should do is tell everyone about this Forum. I wouldn't expect them to give it official blessing as they have no control over it but, as they can't stop it, why not make the best of it?

I think that is the central point here. Great pity really as it has been 99% backing montp.

I wonder how many people know about this forum? It's hard to miss if you Google a few keywords. There must be a fair number of lurkers what with 37,000 hits in the past month alone. I think it's only a matter of time before most clients become aware of it, whether MP like it or not.

How does the saying go... if you can't beat them, join them.

agreed, I have not had confirmation despite a few emails asking and my appeal has to be in next week. With christmas coming a bit concerned, has anyone also submitted their own appeal form on their own for good measure - whats required ?

I'm one of the many who have never received any communication from HMRC. However when it does come I will follow the intructions given by Montp and will expect confirmation of receipt and that appeal has been processed.

In your case I would recommend a call as e-mails do seem to fall into a black hole.

                      Yet Another.....SA Statement

Received yet another SA Statement today I think this is the third.

The overall figure seems to be getting smaller.
Payment due of 8.52 which is dated 22/10/08 for interest owing on a 31/01/05 balance.

Apart fom that still sat with the CN.
Another colleague received his CN last week.
