So DR...I presume you were at the meeting with HMRC when TAA was discussed. If so, what was the body language like of these two guys, and how has it been at previous meetings? Were they betraying irritation this time, where before it was smug indifference?

I wasn't at the meeting. They probably wouldn't even speak to me!

But from what I hear tense and irritated would be a good description of DL, who did most of the talking from their side.

I seriously doubt these guys would have authority to make decisions with tens of £millions at stake.

Fair enough...I hope that's evidence of the sinking feeling now firmly lodged within their brains. If the JR can suspend the APNs as well, I'd say we'll all feel better.

The APNs are a problem we could do without.

I don't want anyone to think that NTRT doesn't understand the distress APNs are causing but our primary focus has to be on resolving the underlying tax dispute, and as quickly as possible.

Absolutely agree. APNs are for MTM to deal with if they can.

HMRC sent us minutes of the meeting and they don't accurately reflect what was said. I'm sure you can guess the sorts of things that were omitted or toned down.

I suggest that we all write to <mod snip> HMRC who knows that we have no case to answer asking why this is not being dropped immediately. Of course recorded delivery and of course circulated to Lin Homer and her direct reports.

If he is serious about taking his nonsensical claim of deliberate and systematic fraud any further against 3000 IT consultants I suggest he get on with it. As I have mentioned in a previous post I have already taken advice on this far-fetched and ridiculous concept and it will never see the light of day in a courtroom

Alternatively a Freedom of Information Request asking what grounds <mod snip> HMRC has to continue action against us given that they have had on the record meetings with us where they have admitted that they have no case against us.

In addition they have already accepted that they have no case against us by their settlement with 'George'.

I encourage everyone who mentions his name now to also add HMRC so that his mendacity and cowardice comes up loud and clear in Google if anyone searches on his name.
