I bet Lenovo feel a bit aggrieved they are mentioned throughout the article. It does say HP laptops from 2010 also have the vulnerability so reading between the lines there could be quite a few more.
I saw that one. My daughter banned me from Lenovo's on account of a couple of spates of the factory loading alleged spyware a while ago. I have had Lenovo's though and I rate them. I suspect the cheapo ASUS lappy might have been a store only clearance jobby. I usually miss out on stuff like that, but it worked out this time for me I think.
Lenovo, and possibly other PC vendors, is exposed to a UEFI bug that can be exploited to disable firmware write-protection...
...an attacker can “disable flash write protection and infect platform firmware, disable Secure Boot, [and] bypass Virtual Secure Mode (Credential Guard, etc.) on Windows 10 Enterprise.”
I love my 420. Had it for years. Put an SSD and it's still going strong. Well except for the 20 minute battery life. If the time comes I'll definitely be looking at a Yoga, 13 or other from them.

I have Lenovo T420s and it's been great for years but looking at upgrading there is the latest model T460s however on most reviews the battery life is pants so best to stick with the T450s (one of the best selling models in US i read) so I have gone for that, i5-5300 12GB RAM 256SSD for just under 800 notes. Haven't checked it yet as working away.
This was on Amazon where is said "last one in stock", after buying it then said "only three left in stock".
If you are after something reasonably standard, then somewhere like PC World is probably good enough (7% discount if you're an IPSE member).
If you want something a bit different, then spec your own on pcspecialist and configure to your heart's content - I got my last one from there and I'm very, very happy with it. But the spec that I was considering wasn't available anywhere else - most places I looked at didn't do a high memory laptop.
