Well "little red" (the working title of our new mower short for "Little Red Scything robot" better names welcome" despite being due on Wednesday it turned up at 10am this morning which was nearly a challenge as we were supposed to be out all day.

    Nicely packaged etc.

    More details to follow.

Moles? When we were having problems with the little blighters a few years ago, I read about a guy (German I think) who wired his garden to the mains and ended up electrocuting himself to death. No moles were harmed though.

I spend too much time on CUK to mow the lawn! Seriously I swing between bored & so busy I can't move, so the lawn suffers.

If I have a robot mower its flat & neat, then I can fire up the Suffolk punch when I want fancy stripes for parties rather than spending 2 weeks getting the lawn to look normal first.

Sent me a picture of it doing my grass as we speak. He says we lose a couple in the moat from time to time but overall it works. Great news for me, bad news for him as he's now redundant and he's being escorted off the estate as we speak.

Would have thought NLyUK could keep him busy! Does he look like Sean Bean?

Who is going to paint the duck house?

If you are losing them in the moat you need to adjust the boundary wire.

    £2600???

Has anyone thought of popping in to see if they're still alive. It's often said the robots will eventually take over (it's why i always say thank-you to Alexa) - maybe this one is happily cashing in the pension cheque each week?

Back on topic, i nearly bought a robot-mower last year, then nearly joined a kickstarter for another one (Novabot), but decided to wait another year or so until those without a boundary wire got a bit better at mapping/boundary detection.

I'm glad i didn't join the kickstarter one - they were meant to ship in July this year, and still no sign of it happening.

    How big is your lawn?
    How flat is your lawn?

I'd probably look at something like the Stihl RMI 632PC

If your lawn has a bit of a slope, maybe go for a Husqvarna. I've seen this in use and was impressed. Not impressed enough to buy one, but still...

Anyway, it's a bit hypnotic watching it soldiering away.
