Cheap to drink if you're gambling. Though the gambling can be quite expensive.

The betting odds are very poor in Vegas so I never gamble there.

But you're right, Thailand is great. I've spent several long holidays in Pattaya in Thailand. Great weather, good varied food, decent prices, warm seas, and friendly people. I swear I would go there for my hols even if thewhole city wasn't one massive brothel

Aye, well every town has it's crappy establishments, and I did say PdC old town and harbour, not the strip.

These days there are more upmarket places to stay on the island.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking it. Just brought back a memory that's all .

Yes, there are some classier places on the island; last time I went we stayed at the Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca.

It used to be quite cheap to hire a villa with a pool (so long as it wasn't half holidays) but then people stopped going to Egpyt for winter sun and the prices went right up. Would be interested to see if that has rectified itself now that folks are returning to Sharm.

Vegas Baby Vegas. Just everything about it is for me. I get it's marmite. My other half hates everything about it. She's glad she went to see it and do the stuff but wouldn't go back. Trying to arrange my 12th visit this year.

I went on a jolly with work and hated it.

Probably because it reminded my of my home county of Essex - cheap people who think they are high rollers because they have a little bit of cash on their hip.
